I bought Witcher: EE, Mass Effect, Half Life:Source, Penumbra Trilogy (well, it's 2 full games and an exp).

I got the Strongbad games as part of a larger pack.
I have to stop myself buying more games. I've easily spazzed £150 on this sale and I still feel the yearning to get more, despite already having more games than I now know what to do with and not taking into account future releases.
Still, not as bad as online gambling.

Is "Killing Floor" any good as a single-player game?

That's the genius of digital distribution.
Not only did they sell you intangible rights to play these games (totally fiat currency), it didn't cost 'em a lick of bandwidth cus you haven't installed and will likely never install some of them. This "money for your satisfaction" sure is hot sale :joke:
Moral of the story? Buy only what you will play.

This. I hate joining a game mid way through and having nobody help you at all. You start with no money and thus nothing better than a pea shooter right when all the waves start to get really nasty. Then people get mad at you for sucking. This is the one case where it really is their fault.
It's just like L4D. Playing with most people is awful because they all suck. But if you get a good group of players it can be really fun. Too bad I don't know anybody worth playing with.

Having travelled to and gallivanted about cities to witness college friends getting hitched in the unsober wake of Christmas and the New Year - and very fun it's been and joyous and silly and grin-inducing to be part of, etc. - I find I've missed out on most of these sales thingers.
BUT I did manage to pop in and get Mass Effect and The Witcher: EE amongst other things just before the counter tocked its last coupla seconds off. ME for $5? Hell yes.
Now I've just got to get back home and get m'self a mobo and some assorted bits to slot in along with the shiny new Core i5 and 4890 HD I snapped up a couple days ago.
I anticipate much and many funs. Happy New Year? Oh yeah!
