TMajesty 2 - £6.24 (75% off wtf?!)
Pricebombing. Majesty 2 = Paradox = Gamersgate. They've done exactly the same thing with all the other Paradox releases about a month after release. It's basically another way to spike a competitor.

I'm pretty sure Steam can't set prices without publisher approval.

They're a retailer like any other, Steam can have sales where items are sold at
their loss.

Christ, between this and the stuff on sale on Impulse I'll go broke saving money before the sales are over: Dead Space, Osmos, Fallen Earth, Sins of a Solar Empire plus the expansion back and Demigod just in the past day and there are three more days to go.

If that were the case (which I'm pretty sure it isn't. Retailers can sell stuff at a loss when they have stock on hand that they've already paid for that they're getting rid of. No stock on hand in a digital model) then they're not spiking their competitor, are they. They're spiking themselves because they'll still have to pay Paradox what Paradox expects per copy sold, and the difference has to come out of Valve's pocket.

This is dreadful. Got Batman and FarCry 2, tempted by Dead Space and aaaaaaargh there will be so many others!!! Its bad bad bad so good.

Apparently the sale crashed the store, cause neither in the in-Steam store or (
www.steampowered.com) are working right now.
I still don't get Valve's European pricing scheme.

Batman is a great buy. Despite the ghey Windows Live thing (which I had for DoW2 I think) its been fab. Started on the hardest difficultly level, as always, and man are the fight challenging.
Steam store works fine where I am. Bunch of new 1 day offers up now including Borderlands 33% off, which is £20 and a good deal if its as fun as people say.

Yeah, works fine now - was just down for a bit after the sale first changed over.
