Headbob's of any sort have always made someone sick. I can recall people saying they couldn't play FP games at all unless they could turn it off. Thief was kinda the apocalypse for some people back in the day. Mirror's Edge is trying to take that kind of immersion a step or two further so it doesn't surprise me that it can have that effect.
Is it really 6 gigs? Yeesh. That's gonna take a few days.
Incidentally, I tried that second method of moving steam that I posted and it worked fine.

Steam tells me it's 7 gigs. But yeah...looks like I'll be done sometime tomorrow. This is the only thing I don't like about digital distribution.

God forbid games take up space on your HD.

You're missing the point. Connection speeds in Australasia are quite slow in comparison to the rest of the Western world and the majority of people are on ISP plans with data caps.

Hence why you should consider that before buying a 7-gigabyte game off a download service. I'd say the same thing to someone on dialup here in the States.

Adding to what Eva said, some places in the US don't even have great speeds. Besides that, downloading 7 gigs at around 200 KB/s takes about eight hours. That's a pretty nice wait. I don't mind a seven gig game residing completely on my hard drive (faster loading, no CDs/DVDs to mess with), but the download time is pretty substantial.
There are also places in the US with download caps as well. One of my friends lives in Washington state in the mountains and can only get internet via satellite. There's a window from about 1 to 5 in the morning where downloads are unlimited; the rest of the day there's a cap; a few gigs, I think.

You'd mention that the game takes up hard drive space to make a point about their download speed/quota?
Seems a tad circuitous.

They were actually two separate points I was making.

Mirror's Edge:-
No SecuROM DRM on the Steam version, unlike the retail disc. Be aware that the Time Trials map pack DLC doesn't work with the Steam version.
SecuROM vs Steam... DVD vs enormous download... Time trials vs none... More expensive vs stupidly cheap... Too many decisions.
Bah. I think I'll wait for a cheap DVD copy. Game Jackal will probably deal with the SecuROM for me. Awfully tempting, though.
I'd grab Riddick as well, but that must be even bigger (requirements say 11 GB free). Oh... and it still has Tages. That settles that, then.
Actually tried to buy Monkey Island SE, but the transaction is failing for no obvious reason. Perhaps their servers are busier than usual...

The DLC was all those abstract looking maps in space wasn't it?
Kinda cool, but the idea of parkour loses a lot when its not in a realistic environment.
It's a problem if they release any more maps I guess (which I'm not sure it was successful enough for anyone to be arsed doing)
