To be fair, I seem to recall exaggerating and saying it made me feel "seasick".
Ah. That's probably what it was.
I splurged and picked up quite a few: Mirror's Edge, Ghostbusters, Left 4 Dead, Lucidity, Osmos, KotoR, and Trine. Of course, my computer can't run half of them, but they're not likely to get much cheaper in the future. Come August, I should be able to start saving for a new rig anyway.

I'm sure that wasn't inspired by GOG.com at all.
(But even if it wasn't, I'm glad GOG got in first :)
Right... off to see what Steam has that GOG doesn't and probably won't...

Other particularly attractive deals:
Lucasarts Adventure Pack (Fate of Atlantis, Last Crusade, Loom, The Dig): $2.50
Space Quest or King's Quest Collection: $5
Braid: $2.50
Still don't get how this works for the game developers. Is Steam just loss-leading? Because I would certainly hope the cut for, say, Johnathan Blow is more than $2.50 for a $10 copy of Braid.

The Witcher at $13.59 is highly tempting and I'll probably cave and get Riddick - Dark Athena for $6.79. According to Steam, the TAGES DRM that kept me away from it is reset every 30 days.

Also check out Indigo Prophecy for like 3 bucks.

I'm gonna get GTA IV, Dark Athena, and Braid from steam, although I'm not too keen on getting games that are nontransferable. I'll probably set up another account for it.
I want Vampire the Masquerade, but it's not on sale.

Either way it'd be like when 2D Boy sold World of Goo for any price, they made a tidy sum of through the sheer volume of sales. Earlier in the year Gabe Newell reported that this is a very common occurrence with pretty most Steam weekend deals.
But at the end of the day after I buy the game that's where my caring about a developer stops in most cases. They likely earn far more money than I do, so I won't lose any sleep if they got a smaller cut of of the retail sale than they normally would've if something was at full price.
As a supplier they maybe expected to show good will to their customers and provide support, but that certainly ain't a two way street.
