I've owned Deus Ex in that flat plastic format since the day it came out. I only bought it on Steam because I figured $2.50 was a good price for a convenient digital copy.

I didn't / couldn't use the Complete mod for SoC, partly because it made the game stutter constantly, and partly because I hated what they did to the HUD.
Why do people in graphics update mods always love to break the HUDs? At one point, I found a nice model/texture upgrade mod for the original Half-life, but had to tear through its files manually to remove the hideous new artwork they used to replace the HUD. (Giant randomly shaped crosshair, an odd helix shape instead of the HEV suit charge icon, etc., etc.)

Not really. Mostly because Complete for Clear Sky is significantly worse than SoC Complete.

Hm, this is like 4 days in a row with nothing I want on a daily deal. Wings of Prey is tempting for a WWII arcade 'em up but eh, is it worth 2 copies of Lume?

is worse (especially balance). But at least vanilla SoC could be completed without a mod of any kind.

What part of Clear Sky can't you finish without a mod? I've beaten all 3 and have never used a mod in any of them.

First two times I couldn't even get past the swamps (objectives never changing), third time got a bug in Agroprom. Fourth time was in Limansk just before the endgame.
Okay, my own damn fault for never making checkpoint saves - still I managed to finish SoC many times playing the same way.
