I hope you realise the massive fucking irony of your last post.
There is no irony because I never claimed to be a power user and I'm blatantly trolling. Lighten up.

At the start of month, I looked at the 20+ games on my wishlist and the 20+ games on my backlog … :erm:
Selected two games I'd actually play right now and bought them Day 1 and 6.
… This is new plan of attack seems to be working for me!

Well, for the sake of it, it isn't an assessment of the platform. It's a joke about the brand loyalty of many users (and delighting in obscure and largely irrelevant features that imply some sort of design superiority but are probably important to somebody. PCs did a lot of things first too) All of which has at least some basis in reality, in my experience.
The truth is Mac OS is fine, but that's all it is. The fact people so swiftly go off into the weeds of feature minutiae most people don't care about supports this (and it's graphics and typography stuff, as ever. Some things never change). And the price can rarely be justified as anything other than boutique pricing, which at least partially explains people's spirited 'evangelism' at times.
Laptops inevitably come up and yes, Apple wins. There haven't been competitive PC laptops until recently (which is probably debatable). If you wanted something other than a folding portable PC you plug in you needed a Mac. But you could buy four of these folding portable PCs...
In desktops Macs were ludicrous for the longest time. Impossible to network and service. Terrible connectivity and generally uncooperative. And it's little surprise that it's not the thing people talk about much. They have virtually ceded the field.
The fact that the company's whole business and design strategy is so terribly precious does nothing to recommend them either. Now, we can head off the inevitable tu quoque and say that yes, given the chance Microsoft would be exactly the same. But, try as they might their chosen platform has made this impossible. That's probably the greatest 'feature' of them all.
So pick a computer that does the thing you want that you can afford.

I have to get a Mac so I can publish my Unity project to iPad. :erg: I don't even know where to start looking. Craigslist? No way am I forking out for a new one.

Back on topic for a moment, Thief 4 is on sale now for just $15!

Wolfenstein -50% today! If I hadn't already gotten Betrayer, The Bureau, State of Decay and MGR I'd pick it up, but it feels like I've got enough big meaty actiongames on my plate.

If only it were worth that much…
The bottom line is that the OS wars are incredibly stupid and I don't know why people waste their time on that stuff. Each OS is better for certain applications (for instance, in my personal uses, Windows for gaming and OSX for audio production), and any competent user will know how to make each work for what they need to do. Admittedly, every other version of Windows tends to be terrible (Millennium, Vista, 8) but if you're on one of the good versions and turn off all the UAC crap it'll be fine. If one works better for you, then great - it doesn't make the OS inherently better, and the definition of better changes depending on what you want to do. So quit wasting time and energy trying to prove why one of them is crap or the other is superior - it's pointless.

Shadowrun Returns for $3.75 is an absolute steal if you don't already have it - the dragonfall DLC is amazingly well put together, so I highly recommend picking that up too

Has anyone played La-Mulana? What do people here think of it?
I've played it some, didn't get too far. Compelling enough, though my memory of it had more than a few "how the fuck am I supposed to progress now?"-moments.
And apparently others seem to think so too, according to (
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/GuideDangIt/Action) this tvtropes list at least.

AvP Classic 2000 for $2.50? Bloody hell, I can't not buy it at that price.
