I'm playing it "dont buy unless 66%-75% off" game. Just wait for the right flash sale
So far:
* Prison Architect
* Stanley Parable
I'm eyeing Brothers - Tale of Two Sons which is at 66% but it doesn't expire till end of the month so I'm holding off in case it gets hit with something bigger.

Stick of Truth is finally on sale, but at only 33% which equals how much the game is currently going for in EB stores this fortnight (meaning that it's not discounted at all really), no thanks. I'll wait till it gets atleast a 50% off.

Mr Tibbs! :D I thought I was the only one here with a soft spot in my heart for Lost Planet 3. No, the developer, Spark, doesn't have a great pedigree, but if you look closer at the credits you'll see that the lead designer/writer is the same guy that wrote Anachronox!
LP3 falters in a lot of the gameplay aspects. Unskippable cutscenes before bossfights, bland shooting. But the characterisation and the storytelling are impeccable.

Picked up a big pile of games over the weekend, don't think I paid more than 7 or 8 bucks for any individual one - all told 15 games for less than $50. Blood Dragon, Enslaved, Deadly Premonition, Bulletstorm, Walking Dead, Far Cry 2, Darkstar One, Velvet Assassin, and Project Snowblind to name a few.
Now, waiting for prices to drop on DLC for Skyrim, Dishonored, and Bioshock Infinite, plus a few other things. I suppose it's too much to ask for some kind of discount on brand new stuff like Wolfenstein or Watch Dogs.

henke, your TTLG thread convinced me to check it out! The Anachronox (one of my favorite games ever!) connection made me take the plunge and boy am I glad I did.
Even though the gameplay's a little weak, Spark tries some cool things. The developers went for a Metroid-style level layout; return to this area when you have the right equipment but it doesn't quite work thanks to limitations of the Unreal engine. The areas are just too small and there's loads of backtracking (particularly at the homebase). It feels like they planned more side content to fill out the world but ran out oftime. The combat is uninspired, with predictable enemies and mostly dull weapons. But, and this is a big but, it is an awesome story.
The low-key, blue-collar setting is fantastic and it really is one of the best stories in games period. If the characters or the fantasy of working on a terrifying snow planet resonate with you, it'll be a really cool experience. I think the writing team are collaborating on a project at Sony Santa Monica which is pretty exciting.

Apart from Rage and Mortal Kombat KE it's an indie game fest: Outlast, The Swapper, Stanley Parable, Proteus, Fez, Antichamber. I feel like I'm not in charge of my wallet anymore... :nono:
