I was hoping to get a Steam copy of GTA V in the sale, but nope! R* pulled GTA V from the storefront and are only selling a bundle with a GTA Online money cheat micro-transaction. The aforementioned bundle is discounted by 25%, so it's the more or less the same price as individual GTA V was before the sale!
Also DayZ had a price increase hours before the sale started. So much for Bohemia being a consumer friendly company.

You were still under the impression that Bohemia were consumer-friendly? Have you seen the Arma III DLC and compared it to what they released for the 3 previous games? They went from releasing massive expansions with long singleplayer campaigns, new maps, and new units/weapons/vehicles to charging $17 for 7 guns.
As far as DayZ goes, I'd be more inclined to care if it weren't an Early Access title. If devs want to time their price increases to incoming sales when it comes to EA games that's fine with me.

Apparently I don't get to play the Monster Game since the entire world is more than 10 levels higher than me?

Sir, you are being hunted is -90% right now! That's a crazy good deal! I didn't finish that one, but it does do enough interesting things in it's first few hours that it's worth a visit from any immersive sim fan.
Also Valkyria Chronicles is a fiver. Good deal for a fun strategy game with some really great characters.

That's not entirely accurate. For one thing, the DLCs to date have come with substantial updates to the gameplay - a whole new heli flight model, major changes to shooting and sound propulsion - that were also rolled out to the entire community but are possible due to paid DLC, for another the
Arma 2-style new terrains and campaigns are still coming.

Is Octodad actually any fun to play? It seems like one of those joke games that were built for streamers/Youtubers.

Grabbed
(http://store.steampowered.com/app/294860/) Valkyria Chronicles gift for strategy-loving friend and
(http://store.steampowered.com/app/327860/) Salt for my crafting/adventurous self.
So, unless steam drops some irresistible 95% deals on some big-big ticket items ... I might be set for the rest of summer ... :((Damn my backlog)
EDIT: Also got Dino D-Day gift for same friend ... Cuz there' no downside to fighting with gatling gun equip dinosaurs that I can see!!!

In Verbis Virtus is on flash sale for £3.74. I bought it a few months ago, and while it wasn't amazing, it's an interesting experiment with player mic input where you cast spells verbally.
If Arx Fatalis had verbal spell casting, it would have been the shit.
