Add Eurotruck Simulator and STALKER: Clear Sky to my list :o
This is the most I've bought from a Steam sale in years.

Just grabbed Resident Evil HD and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, thus turning my computer into a glorified super PlayStation.
edit: don't think I'll be playing them tonight. Steam must be getting hammered at the moment.

Bought Styx, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Prototype 2, and Shadow of Mordor. Got them all refunded except for Shadow of Mordor because they were all poorly optimized and/or ran like shit on my aging PC.
That's kind of hilarious, as SoM is barely playable on my system and everything else in that list runs maxed out at my refresh rate without blinking.

Playing with my current pretty high end PC after spending so much time with a fairly low end system, I've come to understand that what I consider playable now is quite a bit different than what it was just a couple of months ago.
These days, if something takes more than 10 seconds to load, I get kinda pissy about it.

It runs at a relatively steady 40 fps on the lowest settings with AA on, what makes it unplayable is the huge input lag. But I found that limiting the fps to 30 helps a bit with that. But as I said I simply couldn't put the controller down the first time I played it and reached the two hour limit. The nemesis system is strangely addictive.
Styx on the other hand had huge slow downs in the first big open area (might have been due to low space on the hard drive, didn't even bother checking just got it refunded asap). As for Wolfenstein, when I realized it was id tech 5 I immediately uninstalled it. I'm sure with a more powerful computer it works and looks great, but on mine as soon as you turn your camera around the textures simply disappear. I really don't understand this engine.
And yes my computer is starting to show its age (7 years), I'm waiting for win 10/VR/money before upgrading.

I got loads of loot. :D
Styx: Not so sure about this. Will have to play more.
J.U.L.I.A: Among The Stars: Like a sci-fi Myst, but the writers weren't very good with the science ("virii," etc.) I enjoyed the whodunit at the beginning, but then it got a bit drawn out and odd. A lot of the puzzles were casual, but I mostly enjoyed it all.
Banished: I haven't got around to trying it yet, but as far as I know it's a city builder/survival game.
Despair: It's terrible and it cost me 7p.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter: Lovely UE4. I'm about an hour into it. I play these kinds of games with a lot of ambivalence. I love first-person games that aren't just shooters (or aren't shooters at all), but I always wish they had more meat to them. Can't wait to dig in a bit more with this and see what it's got.
Valkyria Chronicles: It looked promising but I'm disappointed with the gameplay.
Crusader King 2 DLC: I mopped up. Over the last couple of months I've become a big fan of the Paradox grand strategies in all of their (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2ZkO8CclhI) complicated glory.
Pillars of Eternity: I'm not a big D&D RPG fan, but I stick my head around the corner to see what's happening every few years. This was my biggest gamble of the sale, but instantly you can tell it's a great game. Surprise best purchase. :D

Julia sounds really interesting, I hadn't heard of it. Kind of like SS2 without mutants. :D Might check it out, just wish it was in real time &/or first person instead of point and click.

First purchase of the sale award goes to: Hand of Fate.

Dying Light only 25% off on a Daily Deal? Boooo! Guess I'll have to wait for the Holiday sale. I think the DDs should always be at least 50% off.
