Warning about a member of the TTLG kru Steam group:-
PđШ# €οΛ.::RaПm§tĕiŋ::
(

He's an obvious phishing scammer out to steal your Steam accounts. Don't fall for it.
Ha, you accepted his chat request? I knew what was going on the second I received it.

So why is ttlg-kru much more popular than Through the Looking Glass?
Why are there two? I looked in Through the Looking Glass once, but there didn't seem to be many people in there, so I left again.

Come on, fess up, who's a retarded faggot? :sly:
that really narrows it down
as to Through the Looking Glass, I made the mistake of making it invite only, and for some reason I can't change it. Though with our phisherman here I'm not so sure it was a mistake after all.

Steam account name is t_smith, though in all the games I go under RueOrintier.

I'm not so sure that PđШ# €οΛ.::RaПm§tĕiŋ:: guy was a scammer. Or rather, the real owner of the account probably isn't. A few months ago a couple of us in #kru got similar messages from someone else in ttlg-kru and it turned out his account was just hacked since he hadn't confirmed his E-mail address or something. He did that and there were no more problems.
Just saying, it might not be a good idea to block him right away if he only spams you once, in case it turns out to be a similar case to the above.
Also, ttlg-kru for lyfe!

That was my account. I got hate mail for a month about that, people thought it was the real 'me' spamming them, when it was someone else who stole my acct. somehow. Coincidentally, it was 2 hours after I posted my Steam profile link on Facebook looking for L4D players.He, fuck that, promptly deleted.
Needless to say, I am understandably cautious about Steam these days.

Yeah, I'd say make you have a decently strong password for anything that's actually worth money - Steam, Starcraft 2, eBay, PayPal, etc.
june gloom on 26/1/2011 at 19:52
Yeah, I went and changed mine to something a little stronger.
