I found a link to contact Stephen Russell (voice of Garrett & others) from another member here on the forum and took the opportunity to send him an email about my thanks for his work & I thought I would post both my email to him and his response for everyone here to check out:
Stephen, I just wanted to drop a line of appreciation to you about the work you did for "Thief". As Looking Glass Studios has decided to close it's doors, many of the LGS people have come into the Through the Looking Glass forums ( (
http://www.ttlg.com) )to discuss and share thoughts, pictures, and ect from over the years. It has been a real blessing to interact with them (many like Tim Stellmach, Laura B, Sara , Randy Smith, Mike C & others have been in the forum for quite a while...) to help us in the building of our fan missions using their editor and just to answer any questions we may have. I must say that LGS seems to have had some of the nicest people working for them and it's been such a blessing to get to know some of them.
In the forum someone posted the link to your ad in the Cape Cod Cyberartists page because I was curious about the voice behind Garrett (as well as the others you have done for LGS - I also love System Shock 2 ) so, I just wanted to drop a note to you and say that part of appeal of Thief to me was the sound of the game and more specifically - the job you did with Garrett as a character.
You effort brought so much life to the character and I wanted to thank you for it and if someone does pick up the licenseing to the Thief product line and decide to make a Thief 3 - we sincerely hope you will be "Garrett" for us once again. If you have not ever visited the forums I listed above - we would be honored if you would stop and register (see if you can get "Garrett" as a username - that would just be great for I don't believe I've ever seen it as someone's user name, and it should be yours anyway..haha) and just say hi to the fans if you would be interested to do so.
Either way, thanks again for the work you did with Looking Glass and I hope we hear your work again,

I'll try to get 'round to visting the forum you mentioned as time permits (I'm rather swamped with work at the moment). It's nice to know that so many people responded so positively to these games.

No, not a troll I don't think. Just disturbingly creepy and concerned about a video game character...(I think maybe she thouht Garrett was a real person)
Do a search for NovaIce and look at the posts done by him/her whatever and you'll get the idea.
