While I plan to make this much more detailed for myself I have started a list. I am very forgetful and there is nothing worse than rebuilding a system from scratch and wanting to play a game only to forget how you got it working last time. I am trying to start taking notes more often as scenility gets more aggresive :ebil:
However I am starting to toy with a way to make things much easier. Below is my list of what it currently takes to get all 3 Thief games running. I think I left out a few as it has been a little while since I last installed. I am curious, did I leave anything out that might help. and has anyone looked at posibbly automating some of this and combining it? I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has put effort into this But I am trying to consider the effects of the possibility of all 3 installs and extra files on a single DVD and a couple of linked batch files or maybe even a little programming to install them all and configure them. All the data 'should' fit on a dual layer disk. Any ideas. I think my ultimate vision is a prompt with three boxes that asks what to install: Thief 1, 2, or 3 and all associated files, fixes, and tweaks are copied at the end of the install for that version. I also have a corrupt video briefing. I would love to slipstream a clean one into the install.

You forgot to include a toilet break. You really need to tell people these simple things, or they'll just sit there and wet themselves. ;)

I thought that was assumed in this line: Modify Zonealarm to allow Editor to send all my personal data back to eidos :D

You forgot to mention The Ultimate Diffculty mod for Thief 1 and 2. Without it, both games are plainly boring.

install gayles and tellimeds scripts.
no cd hack for T2, not sure if there's one for T1.
:D

T1's no cd is as easy as opening the install.cfg, and removing the line that states the cd-path

As it is for T2... 'cept you have to modify two (2) .cfg files... Anyone who modifies the thief2 executable in order to bypass a CD check is clearly an idiot.

Whoa, guys, isn't this no-CD chat against the forum rules? :erm:
