I've been having fun blasting out objects via sketchup---->.3ds---->3ds2bin
Right now I am trying to get into more complex functioning objects within DromEd. Here's the lamp I built:

Inside the glass you can see a gaped rod where the arc should look like it's "jumping" across. At the moment all I know is to replace the lantern object model with my model. I offset the light for height. Still seems weird looking. Even after I figure out to have the animated arc inside there's not much light inside even though the translucent(40%) glass texture is self lit inside 3ds2bin at 100%.

To allow an object such as a light object to be visible on the inside of your lamp: Place this on your lamp object.

The same way you would get it to animate anywhere else.

I don't know how to animate a bitmap in dromed. I'm still searching how.
I read the readme on how to make the fire rise for this Burning Brazier (

I lmao watching my arc bolt fly off into space. :laff:

Sliptip (I think he did it) made lanterns with animated stuff inside. Which were also breakable. I just can't find the thread at the moment. Maybe someone else can help you with that information.
That brazier is overkill^^
Normally thief automatically animates textures which are named a specific way. Well I now, that you just have to end them with rising numbers like name_00, name_01,.... but was that all that is needed?
A corresponding .mtl file with might also help.
force_ani_settings 1
ani_rate 60
EDIT: Just found this via Google: (

Ignore all the about palettes not necessary anymore. Maximum frames go increased as well.

Schwaa made the breakable streetlamp demo with the arcing electricity inside. I'll try to find a link later if no one beats me to it.

A word of caution with particles: There may be rendering problems when they are behind transparent materials. You can get a way with it with plain glass, but not if the glass has a solid pattern.
