The only problem I have with vignettes is they are like a puzzle piece. No matter how colorful or interesting, they are still just a piece, so absolutely string them together. I read all of these and was intrigued with where some of them might go. I liked some individual sentences for their poetic sense (likely a no-no for a full fledged story). By all means put together a well rounded short story, though perhaps something a bit more ambitious than the cat story. I look forward to reading it.
