Check the basement. I believe it is several switches in separate rooms, iirc.

As far as I know those switches don't work in Strange Bedfellows, and even if they did there's nothing in the cages.

I agree. I played that mission on TG on expert nearly a month ago (well, actually i completed T1 for the first time) and i didn't really notice much stuff in there. What did you skip? Loot, optional objective? I think i did all the objectives given, didn't care about loot there.

well, nothing mentioned about that place in objectives and I don't know if there is a loot behind of that door. I think that place is called as Crypts(look at walkthrough (
http://alexfung.info/favorite/game/thief13.htm)) and totally inaccessible. This is what make me curious. Why did LG made that place if it is inaccessible? I mean what is the reason-meaning behind it? Or do I think too much about it...:cheeky:

The switch in the cage is to access the Talisman(s) only. Since Garrett was already there in Undercover, there's nothing there in Strange Bedfellows. There is no door below, only a big stained glass window in a slight recess. There is no space behind the glass. There is, however, an open access to the catacombs (crypts) below and to the right from where you took the screenshot. There's no door at all.
The way to access the switch would be the same way Garrett accessed it in Undercover. Have the holy "First Hammer" from the Reliquary in your inventory, flip all five of the hidden switches throughout the compound, and enter the big room within five minutes from flipping the first hidden switch, etc., but it won't work in Strange Bedfellows, because at least one step in the process is missing.

thank you for replies.
@jtr7
I realized it at the crack of dawn. I had skipped the map undercover so that's the reason why all these happened.:eek: :cheeky:

The loot you're missing is in one of the rooms marked with inverted hammer.

Interesting that in one of prison cells there's a dead woman, most probably the one mentioned in the scroll in Sword mission:
page_0: "THE CITY TRIBUNE
A woman from Shalebridge who was acquitted of charges of robbery in a city court last \
week has been kidnapped by members of the Order of the Hammer. The woman is apparently \
being held in squalid conditions in Cragscleft prison. Whereas the Hammerites did not \
cite any official reason for the incarceration, one of the Order was quoted, saying, \
\"She hath sinned in The Builder's eyes, and thy slothful laws hath touched her not at all.\""
That explains why her cell was empty in Undercover, she's in Cragscleft at that time, but when Garrett went to Cragscleft, she wasn't there. Two possible reasons, Garrett's visit to Cragscleft was earlier than woman's arrest by Hammers or LGS just forgot to put it in the mission.
