As soon as I had posted I found
a key there only to then get swept away and wedged for ever under a rock before I could test it was "the one" :p .
Reloaded and all was good!

This is odd, I've done the other shafts (now levers not frobable), and I've done the blue one correctly but the levers are still frobable... and yes the top one right at the top level is on, the plaque shows the sequence to be on, off, on, on. Tried reloading a earlier save like the previous player, no avail...

Are none of them locking? If you're sure you've done them correctly then I don't know, but if you email me a save then I can see if I can do it for you.

When I was playing that part, I was under the impression it is better to NOT TOUCH the switches in the control room
before the sequence of the other 3 matching switches is OK.
Happened to me twice that I touched a switch on the highest floor first before having the right sequence
and once corrected, throwing the highest switch again and again did not trigger the expected result.

Can't agree with that - the first thing I do is to make sure that the water is turned on at the top of every column and have had no problems.

Wow, thanks for the offer! :D, but I went back and redid it, this time it worked. I did the ones at the very top first, not sure if this made a difference. But anyway, now I can't get out of the
pirate house, could someone give me a clue? thanks!
