I'm surprised they didn't call it Dark's Souls. Goofy Japanese and their weird grasp on English.
Anyway, this is sounding like they're taking the strengths from King's Field and mixing it with Demon's Souls fast pace and great combat. Looks like I'll have yet another game to play on my PS3 when I finally get around to buying one.

Why isn't this just called Demon's Souls 2?
Don't get me wrong - I haven't played Demon's Souls yet - but it seems it shares something of the MP mechanic, no? And it's be the same team, supposedly with the same unforgiving nature, set in a dark medieval fantasy world, so... what gives?

I think it may be tied up with Sony's platform licensing, I'm not sure. Although I heard that things are less than amicable between From Software and Sony at the moment.
Mind you, I quite like that it's not called Demon's Souls 2; a whole new world kinda deserves its own identity, although the engine in that trailer looks a helluva lot like the Demon's Souls one.
