I downloaded KoI_BadVenture_1.1_ENG.zip and tried to select it in GarrettLoader; instead of playing Keeper of Infinity, I found myself mixed up with Basso and his fiance.
Some more noodling disclosed that no matter what I selected, I got the trainer mission of T2. So I set up FMsel; but even after setting everything up right (as per Nightwalker's permapost), FMsel cannot even see Keeper of Infinity, though it can see all the other FMs. (Or so I surmise; I haven't verified my hundreds of missions to see if any others are missing!)
The mission doesn't even show up on the list. I verified the file was indeed right there with all the others, but GarrettLoader can't play it and FMsel can't see it!
I'm doing something dreadfully wrong, but I can't figure out what it is. Help!

Double-click on dromed.exe and tell me what version is running (upper left corner). Should say 1.22.

Also, check the file size of your download. The mission should be 479 MB (502,516,455 bytes). Perhaps you have a corrupted download.

All right, I have 1.21. How do I upgrade to 1.22?
I thought I already did upgrade my installation to 1.22. I was able to play the Farm, though I was getting some jerky motion.

Tannar, the size is correct.
I also downloaded Kingsbridge; when I tried to run it from GarrettLoader, I got a "Runtime error '9' Subscript out of range."

I suspect that's probably the problem right there, Dafydd. I'm not sure GL really works any more with newer missions. I still use DL but even it has issues sometimes, especially if you play with mods installed. FMSel is probably the best bet moving forward, but I haven't had the need to learn how to use it yet, so I haven't.

Just unzip the following files into your T2 folder:
new_dark.zip
editor.zip (If you're Dromed-ing)
Both of the above have to be unzipped into the T2 folder. You can grab the upgrade (

I've been able to muck around with newer version mission files (1.22) using older executables (1.21). They will load just fine; just don't expect them to play correctly. And definitely use FMSel.

"control, alt, shift, end" has got nothing to do with Dafydd's issues nor is it a fix for darkloader for any issue....:grr:
its a Thief command for ending one mission in a multi-mission FM and moving onto the next mission....
thats what i love about this forum, there's always something to make you laugh......................:laff:

Yeah, that's some pretty strange advise there, I tend to think downwinder was posting in the wrong thread and didn't realize it. Cntl-Alt-Shift-End works for any Thief mission btw, not just FMs.
