Sugar skulls, altars and dead people, oh my! (Day of the Dead thread!) - by Mr.Duck

Hey, guys!
:)
Well, to be fair both in my homecity and my adoptive city (Monterrey) we didn't exactly go crrrrrrrrrazy for Day of the Dead celebrations (but there were by various people) you could tell it was DotD in several spaces, especially public. In my family I think the only one that, more or less, celebrates it as it is is my mum who goes to the cemetery where her parents are buried. Yes, gunners, there certainly were vendors who sold them sugar skulls unlike here (that I know off). Myself I've never properly celebrated it, more like admired it from afar, though I remember when I was in elementary school I did build a couple of altars over the years.
There is supposed to be a sizable Mexican community up here in Vanc, so I wonder...
Still, I love to spread the love and knowledge of the holiday around, so cheers and thanks again for the replies! :D

Here's what I know: Donde esta la zapateria? El honor se no mueve en el lado come los congrejos!
Where is the shoestore?
The rest...well....erm....
The honor does not move on the move by the side eat the congrejos (I'm thinking congrejos is cangrejos, in which case it would be crabs, the crustacean kind).
Albert - Love the game, but it's certainly less DotD and more neo-noir. Not that there's anything wrong with that! :D

It's supposed to mean "Honour does not move sideways like a crab". Speaking of noir, that quote is from a Raymond Chandler novel. I'm guessing he came up with that one by himself :p
