Actually, I'm very happy to hear that SpaceChem is highly cliched, for I like SpaceChem and this would mean that there are lots of similar games out there. I can't honestly think of a game quite like it, but people might have made a bunch of clones while I wasn't looking. I'm eager to hear about all the other puzzle games where you use programming loops to do pseudo-chemistry.

Hmm, I wonder if engineering sim is a good term for a genre.
Anyway, looks promising. Needs more polish to make the fiddling with the cables easier, but it's an interesting idea. I don't think grounded first person movement is really the best for it, though. I think a disembodied hoverer would be better for it. You'd sort of expect to get under the pipes and down and dirty for an engineering fantasy like this.

Yeah I was obsessed with this cool game as well about a month ago as it devoured my soul for about 13 hours total and I still hadn't managed to complete the ultimate difficulty. I did manage to complete the other ones in probably half that time though.
I remember when I first tried the pentagon (penultimate) level I had like 41 or 45 seconds on my first goddamn try. Then after a couple of hours and hundreds of attempts I finally built up my skill to actually be able to survive that long without h4x magic from god (deus ex) that I was imbued with on my first try. That was really bizzare.
Maybe I'll return to it one day and beat the final difficulty, but for now the magic has worn off a bit and must build up again.
