Excellent!

Unlike Swats 3 and 4 the missions in this expansion pack are tied together with a story and are not simply stand-alone.
You mean unlike SWAT 4. SWAT 3's missions are very much tied into an overall storyline.

Fantastic news! I've been waiting for this since SWAT4 came out.
I'm slightly disappointed at the news that there will only be seven new maps (assuming they're not including extra multiplayer maps), but I have big hopes for the multiplayer side with the new game type and the fact that they seem to be gearing it more for multi this time around.

Great news! SWAT 4 coop is simply brilliant, can't wait for the new maps.

Sounds like guerilla marketing to me...

That reminds me... Vivendi sent me a thing the other day alerting me to the fact that there are now (

They are called
SWAT Consultant,
Spawning, and
Artificial Intelligence

Sorry to dig this old dinosaur up. I wanted to know if anybody had any info (inside or otherwise :sly:) about a possible sequel to SWAT 4? Thanks.

Highly unlikely. Activision hold the rights to the series now and I doubt they'll do anything with it. If we do get a new game though, expect it to go the route of Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six - reinvented as action focused, more arcadey FPSes designed for console-owning mainstream audiences.

Seriousy, this one hurts. One of my favorite multi-player (Hell, the single-player is fun, too) games of all-time. R.I.P., S.W.A.T. franchise (lol, T.O.O.M.A.N.Y.D.O.TS.). Your mark on the PC game world is indelible and you will be sorely missed. :(
If anyone else has some info to offer me even a glimmer of hope, by all means post.
