Didn't intend to hold the thread hostage; no obligation to comment, of course. I know it's awkward when people post their own music. I just wanted to put it here for posterity.

Don't worry - I've posted music on here before.
I was planning to listen to this today while I work.

Well the good news is you're posting among people that actually get drone. XD
I think if you'd had posted it in a square forum, you'd've really gotten the cricket treatment as drone is Level 6 "Outcast" in the music iceberg meme.
I liked it. It had the right amount of edge in a lot of it, when you find that breaking point & play with that line. Sound design for some of the voices was top notch, the clangs & FM, the pitch drift you had for some of them. Track 4 was the one I liked, with the celestial voice followed by a really great brass coming in.
Kind of hard to review drone, though. It's like the acoustic version of a Rothko painting. It's something you experience being surrounded by its ambience & environment than anything that can be put into words well.

Thank you :) Track 4 was all MS20, if I recall.

I am nearly finished (just started the penultimate track) and I am enjoying it so far as music to have on while working (I find it hard to work on complex stuff when there are lyrics, so ambient music is ideal).
Is any of it generative, or is it all programmed?
Sonically, it is very much my cup of tea. Would love to see it on a documentary about microorganisms or space - would work very well with a lot of abstract shapes.
Or a sci fi point & click!
Aja on 7/12/2021 at 20:13
Thanks. None of it is generative except maybe sort of the background drone on "Carillon", which was a morphing Shapeshifter wavetable. That's about the only modular synth on the whole thing, actually, apart from a random bleep or two.
I appreciate the science video comment. In junior high we watched some videos on microorganisms that had synthy ambient music that I've been thinking about ever since.

This is so pretty. I feel like sharing it.
I wouldn't be averse to homebrewing a synth casing someday.

Re: the sound of money being wasted... I bet it would be pretty epic if you slowed it down, cranked up the reverb, and hit that sweet spot -- you know, for about 4 seconds before it descends back into that. :D

Perfect Circuit is having a (
https://www.perfectcircuit.com/contests) contest & I want to win the thing.
We get an extra entry for everyone that clicks our referral link.
To summarize, I'll click your link (if anybody else posts one here) & be happy if you click mine: (

I don't think this is really self-promotion per se. I'll be happy for anyone from TTLG to get this thing. So I'm thinking about it more like community promotion, mutual back-scratching, etc. But y'all can let me know what you think.

That doesn't seem to work for me. When I click it, it's not entering you; it's asking me to enter (which I can't even do because I'm not a US resident).
