Didn't realize the Black sequencer had built-in VCAs and envelopes. That is very cool!

I like the sounds Aja, that crystal clean start is especially nice. Nice cover art too, actually.
Thank you! The cover is a photo I took years ago of my dad's old incandescent Christmas lights. Those bulbs were hot, always close to blowing a breaking a breaker, and they probably tripled the power bill in December, but they were beautiful.

I love the aesthetics of that thing - what does it sound like?

I'll record some clips when I get a chance, but the original synth is all over 70's music. The lead on "Just What I Needed", it's all over Tomita's stuff, it's AFAIK the only synth Daniel Miller used on the Warm Leatherette single. Pre-pop Human League used one a lot I think? Also early Cure. Anyway I'll post some clips when I get a chance, it took me a week to open the damn thing up and post a pic. :(
Edit: Oh, yeah, early Goldfrapp is covered with Korg stuff. MS-20 on the first album, and something 700/770/800DV on the second and third, not sure which synth specifically but they're similar.

Speaking of reissues of old stuff:

I'm assuming this means the long-rumored OB-X reissue, which doesn't particularly interest me, but I'd love a budget Take 5-style OB-based synth down the road.

Man, I won't buy one of these (or a P5 Rev4) because I just can't justify the cost or the space, but this is super sexy.

No, but I kinda want one of those little Roland drum synths they advertise in the commercial.
Jason Moyer on 15/5/2022 at 14:38
I thought that was neat, but it turns out the drum sounds are really limited for no apparent reason. I don't understand why Roland would release an Aira drum machine and not include all of the 808/909/606/707 sounds on it. That would be the main selling point for me, since there are tons of cheap drum machines nowadays.

I'm actually okay with it. The worst part for me about my Volca Sample is trying to come up with kits that sound coherent (not to mention the process for actually loading samples is awful). I'd rather work within the limitations of a good-sounding default kit, and the T8 does sound really good from the demos I've watched. I'm not sure what else is comparable in the price range. Maybe the Volca Beats or Drum, but I'm not as into those sounds.
