With regard to the Keepers being a secret organisation (i.e. nobody knows they exist), I'm not sure that they are quite THAT secret, seeing how the Keeper grotto (or whatever it was) in Cathedral is clearly marked on the street map.
Great level BTW. Finally finished it (that switch in the Hammer Shrine was a real pain to find).

It's a great mission, just, as said before, please do something about all those random switches and secret entrances... I was usually expecting something more as I was running around for 30 minutes trying to figure out what to do, but then "Oh, a switch I could barely see, wonderful." Everything was still really well done.

I should have added "IF you do a revision."

Nice mission, Purah. I liked the story a lot, as well as your architecture. Your architecture is up there with Mokkis, man. Very immaginative, and great atomosphere (it's near Holloween?

Sadness on the sleeping people, though. Check Death of Garrett, he was able to get sleeping people to work right.
Also, check the door to the Hammer temple (the big one), are the physics set the same as the doors? The AI's can see right through 'em and come attack you when you walk past the closed doors.
You probably didn't want this to happen but I was discovered by a Hammer because of the see-through door, so he chased me. I ran back "home" and my "friend" beat up the Hammer for me. Hehehehaha. "How useful!" I thought. Later, a guard chased me and I brought him to my friend again (I was on expert and wasn't allowed to kill). But this time, the guard somehow got caught in the bushes and was stuck there. We couldn't reach each other at all. This is no big deal and you don't need to change it.
Oh... but fix the book thing... you just gotta change directories.
Purah on 2/12/1999 at 05:32
Well, the book thing is a problem with TZ that has been discussed on teh forum. If you do a test zip and then try to add files you wind up screwed.
I don't intend to make any changes b/c I did't build levels for a "hammer." I just built them for fun. The review is nice and I certainly appreciate the time you invested, but the real reward is all the e-mail I've gotten and the input from the forum.
hasta.

I really enjoyed Lampfire. I just finshed playing it for, I don't know, maybe three straight hours. That should tell you something (either about the mission or about my life). Some of this has already been mentioned, but here's my criticism, for what it's worth:
- Interiors of some of the buildings felt cramped.
- Somewhat slow frame rates in some areas.
- Really really annoying AI problems. Sleeping people who can see you from across the room. Sleeping people who say things like "who's there?" yet continue snoring. AI's who are unarmed but can attack and kill you with their bare hands.
- Too damn hard to find the book on the shelf in the library. I guess Garrett's "Hmmm" is supposed to be a hint, but the problem is when you first walk in the library you're not thinking about looking for a book, you're thinking about the two guards who are puttering around. After you take care of them, it's a tedious task to walk around looking at all the shelves for a book that you think might be there.
All this being said, I really enjoyed the endgame of the mission, what with the Well of the Souls (I mean, Vault of Sorrows) and all that. Nice work!

Hey! I put the karate guy in there on purpose! A guy that can hurt you w/ bare hands is hardly a mistake or glitch...don't be so naive as to think it was a blunder.
That said, I agree that some of the rooms were cramped and the sleeping AI needed more tweaking. I also appreciate your dilemma in that the map didn't work and certain things were very tough to find. Basically I tried to make a very challenging level and probably went too far.
Anyway, thanks for playing it and thanks for giving your feedback.

I just wanted to say thank you publicly for all the forum postings both constructive and praise-filled.
I have gotten, to date, about a dozen e-mails stating that I should get a gold hammer for the mission, etc.
While I have no real aspirations for a gold because it's just one more person's oppinion anyway, I wanted to say thank you to all the people that DID award me that honor. Thank you.
I also wanted to say thank you to everyone with even higher expectations. It is impossible to build a Fan Mission that will please EVERYONE. But with higher expectations, FMs will only get better.
Thanks again to everyone who posted.
-Purah.
