pnowak, in the pub:
Just walk by everyone and go upstairs. Don't show a weapon!
Thanks for the room by the bridge. I missed that. I didn't have much trouble with the man over the vegetable shop. I ended with 3681 loot. How do you know the maximum loot for a mission?
I went back to the pub and got the wine bottles and the guard's purse. Now I have 3881. I think I'll save Calendra's Legacy for later. I am looking at Rogue's Honor or Saint of Redmound for my next mission.

Daisy, if you want to check what the maximum loot available in a mission is while you're playing, save, then hit "ctrl+alt+shift+end" and the mission will finish. You can check the "stats" screen to see what the total loot is, pickpockets, etc. Then just load up your last save and keep playing. Just as a side note, there is 1000 gold in this mission that you can't actually find. It's the stuff in Garrett's cottage that you can't pick up, but it's included in the loot total. :)

That doesn't work on my unpatched TDP. I did accidently get the stats screen once, but don't know how I did it. I'll just check it at the end of the game and go back to get more loot. I finished with just 15 short of the maximum.:)

Hey, I was looking for some kind of walkthrough for this FM and couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any write-up on that?
By the way, how do you like the idea of Garrett settling down, having a cottage?... Heh, sounds like an interesting idea... lol
Nightwalker on 5/7/2002 at 13:07
I don't think there's a walkthrough anywhere, but there have been plenty of questions asked about it since it was released. Why don't you just start playing and if you get stuck, do a search. You could very well find the answer to whatever problem you're having without needing to wait for an answer. (There would be posts about this mission in the Editor's Guild archive, too, because that's where a lot of the FM questions used to be asked before the FM forum was created.) If you don't find what you need, then post and we'll help you out. It's a terrific mission. :)

Yep, thanks, I will do that... And you are right, it's a nice FM, I felt quite cozy when I started playing it. You know, nice warm cottage, if only Garrett wasn't a thief, he could say - what else do I need? LOL

Is it just me or does the architecture seem a little out-of-place? Or maybe the lightings just too bright.. No offense meant, and I know it was Purah's first release, but I think I was expecting a lot more in terms of atmosphere.. *runs off and hides, lest the countless legions of Purah Worshippers stone him to death* :erg: Not that I've even got far.. Basically just had a few guards chase me back to my "cottage" (the weird thing is I don't think I could get out my own front door, so I had to jump out the balcony or something  ) and gave up in frustration. Being a sh***y taffer sucks =P And again, so it is perfectly clear: No offense meant. Just can't help being deconstructively honest at times :nono: .. I'm off to try it again, as I've heard many good things about it, and they all can't be only from new fans from the CL phase who praise it unceasingly because their current obsessions. (It was supposed to be a joke..)

So far: Good gameplay, good innovative ways to get into some places, but I guess I just can't get past some of the architecture/texture usage.. Nonetheless, a good beginning.
