Just two more objectives to go (normal difficulty). Finding out the secret of the lock and switch at the cottage, and getting back alive to the cottage.
Please, no hints, I have been looking everywhere, just answers: How do I unlock the switch?
SlyFoxx on 24/6/2003 at 17:39
Sly checks under his armpit....hummm, nobody there. That's good
I'm not sure I remember correctly but I think the key is up high in the hammer church. Have you gotten up there and found a hidden lever and discovered the contents of the room it reveals? Not the big part with the red floor but the small section right next to the food store.

You need the key that SlyFoxx mentioned but you don't need to unlock that actual switch to complete that objective. The key has other uses.
Have you found the underground section with the floating chests? You need to rope arrow up and use the key to unlock the chests. That completes the objective. You never have to touch the switch on the cottage unless you want to.
That is a great fm, just off to down load it again (I lost all my fm's I've played from ages ago :()

Okay, I'll try that out... I have been to the Hammer chapel but didn't find a switch (except the one near those coffins, that leads to the big hall), but now I know where I should be looking.
I have been to the king's tomb with all those floating coffins, getting frustrated by my inability to open them. Now that I now where to find the key, I am happy again:D
One more question: behind the food store ther's an alley. You get to a part of that alley where you here some ghostly sounds and if you look up, you see a big open window. There seems to be no way to get there, not with rope arows or otherwise. Did some find a way, or doesn't it have a purpose. I am actually curious why the ghostly sounds are there (I hope you know what I am talking about)
And yep, I like this mission very much. It's spooky and you feel a continuous threat looming over the whole mission, with all these strange predictions and visions and talk of the beast etc. I heard Purah whining in another thread that he thought the mission sucked, well a big BOOH:grr: to him, I say HURRAY:thumb: to this mission!
Oh yeah, and thanks, of course.
Nightwalker on 25/6/2003 at 12:13
LOL! Purah made the mission, so he can say he hates it if he wants to. :cheeky: Most of the rest of us love it!
That window
opens into the hidden area with the key that you haven't gotten into yet. It's just another incentive to send you looking for the entrance. Once you see what's in the room, you may understand the ghostly sounds.
I am worn out playing this mission. Whew!
Have read all the posts about that pedestal going down to open the door where the sword is. Unfortunately, no one seemed to need to ask my "from the very beginning" question. How does the pedestal go down to begin with? It has gone down more than a few times but I don't know why. Have tried jumping on it, pushing it, etc. Get blown up as soon as the dang thing DOES go down. Have disarmed the mine on top and still got blown up when the pedestal went down. What makes it go down and how does one keep from immediately getting blown up? Can't even get time to gulp down the speed potion. Someone said to "step on it". Hate to be so dense but all I can do is get as close as I can and then just stand there. Maybe I have just been playing too many hours today and can't think anymore. Sigh.

I usually blow up the mine with a broadhead, then stand on the pedestal. As soon as it's pressed all the way down, a door on the other side of the room opens. There's a fire elemental in there. Maybe that's what's blowing you up? You need to be watching the door and have a water arrow ready to douse it.

Have discovered its the thingys coming out from the wall once the pedestal starts down that is doing me in. So, have tried jumping over them, having a water arrow ready and running for the door. I think I am too old for this. Am going to jump back over the chasm and complete what little is left of this mission and then come back with a rock!!! Thanks for your help.

I've searched all the threads containing "Lampfire Hills" but unfortunately I haven't found any answer for my question.
I've done everything except finding the Keepers' medallion. Where is it?
