I can't seem to find the files that Deceiver is talking about anyway. Is this going to happen every time I try to read something? It kicks me right out of the game.

unzip the mission
the 3 files you want are called "lamp1.str, lamp16.str, lamp25.str". They are found in the fire\thief\books directory.
move them to fire\books directory where all the other .str files are and then re-zip the mission.
This will fix the journal error.

I never used that first book in the cottage.
This was the only location were I was thrown out of the game.
Everything else worked fine in this fine mission, however.

Well, now there's a new problem. Same one I encountered in Hammerhead. And I know it ain't me because I've roped a million times. I can't mantle up to the wood ledge in the chimney after shooting an arrow into the side of it. Can't unlock the door either. Game is effectively over. Grrrr. . .

erm, you might want to look on the floor near the sleeper for (in almost plain sight) there is a key to the door.

Heh heh heh, tonight I was playing the Lampfire Hills FM, and something quite unusual happened. I came from Garrets house to the bar...heard him say "These guys don't look too mean" and the next thing I know, after I move out of the doorway, I have a firearrow aiming at me, but it hits someone else instead, and next thing I know I have a massacre on my hands in the bar's doorway. Several "innocents" and a few guards are wasted by a trigger happy fire arrow shooting guard. I also heard swords clashing too, so I know more then just that one guard was causing trouble. I only took a bit of damage when the first arrow hit...odd no? Has anyone else had this happen?
