falling into a deep hole? hmmm... could you be more specific? is that hole found after a long tunnel?

...there is a room with 2 Zombies, in a room nearby is a little hole in the ground, I go down, than came a long tunnel with this big hole at the end. But I didn't found another way.....have I anything missed? :)
