"Eat my schrapnel?" There was no schrapnel to be had by Medieval Priests to be eaten, or caused to be eaten upon.
Tels, what do you think of this?
Somehow I don't think the Medieval Priests would have put it quite that way; about electronic, battery operated, proximity detonated mines that is.
They probably would have said something like, "Turkey or Taffer that shalt offend Thy Builder with 20th Century artifacts of ill will upon us Medieval Pofolks shalt be smitten by Burrick Turds". Or something Medieval to that effect. Right?

I am neither fleunt in medivial German nor English, and I have no idea what a medivial priest (or a modern one, for that) would think and have rules for, least what he might think about modern inventions. Thats like saying you hand a 2106 AD TPB (Transportable Personal Beamer) over to the vatican and lets see what they do. Will they teleport themselfe from the Chappel to the closet or will they ban it? You never know..

Thanks Tels. I love your sense of humor. Somehow, I thought you'd shed some light on this, and you did.
So much for theories on edible schrapnel.

SPOILER
Wow... the 3 statues puzzle was a toughy. I would never have figured out the interactiveness of the graves without a hint to do so in the first place. How did you guys know to interact? I read all the texts several times and couldn't get any hints that suggested to do so.
Anyways, on Diabolical, I've run out of fire arrows so I can get the last item to open the secret tomb! (I tested it on Easy, so I know how to open it) Ack! Do I have to play this again, making sure I buy an extra fire arrow at the store?
And I still can't find Banshee in the tomb.

kfgecko: As you visit the Duke's secret tomb,
play around with the two elevator switches that can be found down there. That should be of help.
As for the fire arrows, I believe there are
three arrows that can be found altogether.
Since you can't kill anyone, you should have an arrow in reserve.
As far as the interaction goes: what gave it away for me was the inscription about the
poor lady's death. And nearby something was lying on the ground that was mentioned
in the inscription. Hmmm, why would that be lying THERE? So you can put two and two together and then use the same approach for the others.

I never did get The Vigil to end, even though I completed all the objectives and returned to the starting point. It just wouldn't give me Mission Complete no matter what I did. :-(
But it was a blast to play. Banshee did some killer work on this one, and I look forward to his next effort.

That's pretty much how I figured it out too, same way dKessler did. A few posts above, I was racking my brains on the same issue. The little holders were the same from RTC; I had to put something in each one, but what. There were no Talismans in this mission. (Oops, Talismanner if you're German) Sooo, I wandered around the graveyard looking for ideas, and like dKessler said, why was that particular rock left in that particular place???? Hmmmmm! Is there any correlation to this oddly placed rock, and the circumstances leading to the demise of the fair damsel???? KLONK, and I had my answer. The other two worked the same way.
BTW; I never met the keeper in the graveyard, nor could I find a second elevator switch in the tomb. Any hints?
dkessler on 7/3/2000 at 03:38
Your hint: There is a second elevator switch in the Ambrosius tomb.
You can't miss it
