Damn, this joint is full of surprises, isn't it. Another elevator switch on the wall. (Thanks Mr. dKessler) And another hidey hole under the elevator. Always look under elevators, when am I going to learn!
First, we splat the fireball. I'd have been smoked kimchee had I used my last water arrow getting into this hole. And there's....oh shit, it's him, His Nibs, big ol shiteating grin on his face and all! Banshee, you'd fit right in at TTLG based on the video clips I saw on the TG CD. BTW, I could have used that ordnance on the floor a little earlier in the mission, but thanks anyway. Now that I'm about to stroll outa here, I can take it home and let the cat play with it. And, it looks like we have another mission on the way from Banshee. Watch for it on your local PC.

there will be a keeper in the graveyard if you press the button in the cellar? i found nothing had happened after i pressed it so i left the place without checking out other places!
i think there has to be a sequence because garret would not simply sell the unholy idol to somebody anyway.

The problem with many "games", and I guess one that we all have to live with, is that they are designed as games. Generally, there are no "useless" rooms or areas in a level. In "The Vigil", the problem of the threes can be solved by using this theory. The cemetary seems completely empty, which just isn't right in the gaming world. Also, a conspicuous boulder is just sitting there? Come on. There is ALWAYS a relevance. Unfortunately, to complete a mission often times have to think of it as a game, not as an "experience", which takes away from the immersion. Regardless, this is one of the best (if not the best!) missions I've ever played. Much respect to Banshee (I didn't know they had LensCrafters in pseudo-medieval Europe!) for coming up with a true winner.

Gold Hammer for Banshee!!! This is just as good as LLE if not better. Your missions and Bloodstone are the only fan missions that compare to TTLG in my book.
I've completed it on normal, and even found the medallion, but I need some help.
I've emerged from a short swim, immediatly following the Ratman, there's a guard walking overhead (I can see him through the grate)- to my left is a staricase going down (submerged) and a ladder going up to a wooden platform. I can't seem to get to the area where the guard is, and I have all the keys. Everyone keeps talking about a gate in the sewer to unlock- but I can't find one. How do I get to this area from here?

taffer, I agree to some of what you said. This *IS* a game, and we want to be entertained, so for the sake of removing tedium of life rooms usually have some purpose. (Or are criticized for being there.) I think enough immersion can be created elswhere if the designer focuses on them. Anyway, it's a tough balance to maintain. Just wanted to preemptive strike any FM author out there from getting the idea (s)he needs to load up on extraneous rooms for the sake of immersion.
Fett, I think you got stuck like I did. On Easy, there is no gate. On higher levels, you have to get a key from that "useless pump room" area (near the tall thingamajiggy that makes noise when the switch in the next room is thrown). The key is in a different place depending upon level Expert or Diabolical.

fett, can I use you as an example?!?!

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/wink.gifRead my post under 'Hammerhead question' and you'll understand.
Just because a mission is better than a high scoring mission does not mean it should get a higher score. It can't get a gold hammer, anyway, several people have, not complained, but have delivered critism. The Gold Hammer should only be given if the level is totally perfect in every way. How many FMs will get 10 on Tel's voting thingymagimmy? That's what it takes.

What am I doing wrong?
I've found the hidden medallion and Banshee's photo, gassed the widow and guards, rope-climbed onto the roof of the Chapel, bopped everyone on the head (except the guard walking above me while in the sewer) and I can't find enough gold! (I've downloaded the fix.)
The only place I can't get into is the underwater passage with the gate across it; I have a million keys and none seem to work. Nothing I do to this gate works! It never "glows" so that I can use it, or do something to it. Does the pump need to be on? Off? I'm so confused!
What am I doing wrong? Please help!!

Seemed to me there was plenty of loot, and it wasn't that hard to find.
Before going into the tomb, there were a couple of blue thingies on the wall, and another blue thingie on the wall inside the gate. There was a ring on top of the tomb. The ratman hole had a good stash. The hotel was loaded. The Hammer House had a room that was loaded. There wasn't much, if anything, in the sewer itself. The upper floor tomb had a gold head thingie. Everyplace had a candlestick or two.
It might be easier to retrace your steps, now that you're not running for your life, and police up enough loot to finish the game.

Thanks, I'll look some more. Coulda sworn I got everything though. . . blue thingies and all!
But, since I haven't found the ratman's hole, I guess I missed something big. doh!

In Vigil, I found journal, but can't get out of the tomb afterwards. Am I supposed to grab it and get out fast, or is there some other way to get out?
