I am stuck. WHile playing on normal, I entered the tomb, got the book, found the secret door, crossed the fire bridge, but at the end there is only a room with a flickering light and a skeleton. What am I supposed to do now?

It's been a while, but I remember that there is a ladder that comes out of the floor near the room with the skeleton (I think when you flip a switch in the immediate area). At the top of the ladder there is a trap door -- your way out.
Should get easier after this (as I recall).

SPOILER
I had the same problem, Gorby, and I felt so stupid when I figured it out. Actually, I had to email the FM author several times before I stumbled upon my own stupidity. When you're in the room with the skeleton, go to the doorway. Turn so that the skeleton is on your right. Sidestep (or whatever you call it when you move in a direction other than the one you're facing) left until you see the short hallway leading to the room with a switch and ladder. Then, if you're like me, kick yourself for being oblivious.

Thanks. I found the door after I quit and started again later, I can't believe I was so dumb.

Upon walking toward Duke Crevgen's corpse in his tomb, I turned and ran when the guards started leaving and the tomb became sealed. Is there another way in? I'm reading posts where people ran inside, became trapped, but had a way out (as per enclosed scroll). Did I make a mistake? Have I sealed myself out of continuing this mission? Some hints please.

Umm, if I remember this correctly. The scroll said something about Fire and Water on Keepers and Hammers. Facing away from the 'sealed' door, there are two statues directly near the tomb. One is a Hammerite, and the other is a Keeper. Try shooting a fire arrow on one, and water arrow on another. If nothing happens, reload and try the opposite. I don't remember what happens next, I think a door opens on the other end of the tomb or something.

As far as I know, the only way to complete the mission is to sneak into the tomb before the guards leave and it is sealed. Then, you can grab the journal and the ring.
On the front of the coffin, there is a fire crystal and a water crystal. These are the key to the secret exit of the tomb. If you want to figure it out for your self, stop reading now.
Okay, fire a water crystal at the statue of the Keeper (woman on right of doorway when facing door from the coffin). You will hear a door open to the left of the coffin in the back wall.
Fire a fire arrow into the Builder statue (man, left of doorway) and a bridge of fire will appear across the gap.
THis leads to the sewers, and from here you can make your way up to the reg. level.
Hope this helps,
dragoman

I guess I'll have to reload the game. All replies indicate that I should have gone inside the tomb before it became sealed. (Damn, and I was doing so well too!).

errrrrr......dunno how to get out!!......know there were words of a secret passage, and it probs has something to do with a Hammer, a Keeper, a fire arrow, and a water arrow........but damned if I know what the connection is!!!

Cheerz,
btw, I did a pretty stylish blackjacking of all 4 guards in that room..........hid in shadows, as they were exiting the tomb. Waited till they'd just gone past, then run up behind each, blackjackin them all, without them noticing....................just intime for me to run and crouch, to just make it under the door to the tomb.........
..........I felt like Indiana Jones!!
