Read the plaque on the front of the sarcophagus very carefully, then find the statues that fit the description, and use the fire and water arrows that you found on them.

Any of you out there that have played this FM. HELP!!!
Ok, so I'm in the ducal crypts. I got the book from the sarcophagus. Now I need to get out. The plaque tells me that the way out has something to do with the statues of the Hammerite and the Keeper. But what exactly do I do now?
BURIED ALIVE!!!! NO THIS CAN'T BE!!!!

"Is that you?! Is someone there?!"
Xandria crouches silently in the darkened corner of a looted room, but it is only the whisper of the wind and the darkness of the shadows that the guardian of lost treasure perceives.

Relax, you have what you need to get out. You found two arrows by the plaque. You use those on the two statues that fit the description. By the way, I read your post on the other thread. I am 48, female, and have 2 kids in their twenties, and I am totally addicted to Thief. There are a surprising number of women here of all ages, but one more is always welcome!

Thanks, for the hint Nightwalker!!!
It's nice to know I'm not the only Mom/Grandma taffer who is addicted to sneaking in the shadows. Wish I could get the computer away from my hubby more often. He moonlights as a DJ and is always on-line downloading music. He's been especially busy at it since he heard that the Napster site might start charging fees or it might close altogether.
Have you completed Lord Edmund Entertain's? If you have, is there a way to open or get past the two gates in the neighborhood? From one of them I can see what looks like a fire crystal stuck in the wall. I've done this level on hard but can't find enough loot to satisfy expert, so I'm thinking maybe I need to get past those gates.

I have done it, but so long ago I'm afraid I don't remember a lot of detail. Try running a search on the Editor's Forum, and you may pull up what you need, or post your question there or on the General Discussion Forum, and someone will probably know. Good Luck!

Hi, I'm back. I decided if I couldn't remember this mission very well it was time to play it again. I just started it, and I'm sure you can't go through any of the gates. I'll keep track of where I find my gold, and if I get enough I'll give you a list. There is some gold in the orphanage. I don't know if you have to take it to make up your total or not (the note makes you feel REALLY lousy if you take it!). I should be done before too long.

Back again. I've been doing it on expert and I'm short loot, also. Even taking the (flinch) orphan's money and ring, I'm only at 1875 gold. I can't think of anyplace else to look. I'm going to post on the other forum and see if anyone can help.

Thanks, Night. I finished Vigil. It was a very good mission in my opinion. I especially liked the riddle of the three. I think I'll go vote and give it a really good comment.
