That is - no arrows apart from the water and fire ones I picked up eons ago - duh!!!!!!
Yes, there is a hint - have to learn to curb my impatience and THINK!
Thanks again :thumb:

An excellent mission, and even more excellent puzzle! I personally spent much time tearing out my hair (and alerting the guards without!) over this very same predicament. And I must say it got me to do some serious thinking and detective work (both testaments to the author's achievements), and after I finally sat down and thought about what I read it all made sense. Incredible, once you figure it out. Genius. Banshee.. A god :D. I really wish he had made more missions as, like Mokkis, he was born to DromEd!
I'm not alone to feel this passionately about Banshee and his missions, am I? ;)
Cheers and good luck,
deadman.

Well I made it! A big thanks to Morrgan, Eshaktaar, Nightwalker and Deadman for your help and for your welcome! Without you I still be jumping up and down on top of the tombs in front of the statues - opening and closing the diary as I was hung up on thirsting for KNOWLEDGE instead of simply thirsting for a water arrow!!! - ahhh, it's easy when you know how :laff:
It was a brilliant mission, as was LEE, but my favorite so far is still the Seventh Crystal, although I've now started Cult of the Resurrection in preparation for The Inverted Manse so we'll see....
I can't thank all you guys enough for making these missions - when I finished Thief 1 and 11 (for the umpteenth time) I was lost - I believe it to be the best game EVER. I also play Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Warcraft 111 etc but enjoyable as they are, they don't have a patch on Thief. I've learnt to enjoy sneaking instead of clubbing and stabbing everything in sight - much higher sense of satisfaction and oh, that quicksave is sooooo useful, who needs healing potions :)
Enough - have the Spirit Stone - I'm off to find the Sword of St. Edgar!

They're dusting off those old Thief 3 discs and getting them ready for shipment in nice new-looking boxes :bored:.

deadman.
P.S. I wonder if we could make this as big as the bow-upgrade <strike>hoax</strike> secret!
Eshaktaar on 1/8/2003 at 16:31
And what about the 108 Warcraft games I've missed!? I haven't even finished part three! ;)

Eshkataar, you'll have to try being the Undead or the Horde - those Night Elves are VERY slow!!!!!
Well Then! See where using roman numerals gets you!!!!!!
I'm stuck at the puzzle near the start of The Inverted Manse, but I've a few more things to try before I come crying for help again you taffers! ;)

You people may not believe this, but I cannot even find the graveyard in this FM. Does it have the usual looking tombstones that are stuck in the ground? 'Cause I ain't seen any. Right now Garrett is standing at the entrance to the large tomb where I got the diary (already been through the sewers and all that). And the only thing I can find that MIGHT be an elevator is a green rectangle on the floor (looks like a rug) between two statues in a small stone room that clangs when I jump on it (right next to where G is standing). Is this the elevator?
