So, I was screwing around playing Lorgan's Web and I get to the cafe area where I decided to clock that dude with the hammer upside his head. The other AI start running and I follow (for shits and giggles) and I notice that the chic has her skin on backwards. The front of her head is white and the back has her face stretched over it. Is this a bug or some sort of inside joke?
It's because you have the "high-definition" mesh packs installed. The same thing happened to me. Go to your Thief Gold directory and rename the mesh folder to NEWMESH or something. The original meshes will be restored.
Also, props for the thread title.

Oops, I never noticed that.

Hi everyone.
I recently got around to playing Lorgan's Web again (Thief Gold), and it runs fine, except when I save a game and load it: whenever I load a saved game, the game crashes, so I have to start from the beginning. Any help would be appreciated.
Here are my system specs:
- Pentium 3 1ghz
- Windows XP Pro SP2
- ATI Radeon 64mb
- 512 MB Ram

You might try clearing your thief directory of any files from the previous fm, before Lorgans' Web. Check your all saves folder in your thief directory. The fm saves are in a zip format. It sounds like you are saving fm saves in a folder that cant be found when you try to load.

Having played mainly T2 FMs before, i've recently ventured into T1/G FMs and Lorgan's Web is one of the first I decided to check out. Now that I've finished this mission, I'm really stunned by this amazing gem. What a terrific piece of work this is!
First of all, I thought the city design is incredible well done, with all the shops and buildings to explore, and the various paths to traverse (sewers, rooftops, backalleys and streets). What an exploration! The story telling is also very strong. I love all the evolvements with Cudget, the affair with Lorgan and the infiltration of Lord Fishkills's Manor.
In addition, I find the technical implementations top notch and really unique; putting out lights in a building that darkens the windows and creates more shadows on the streets (why isn't this more commonly used?) or the motion that lets AI lying on a bed. Never imagined seeing something like this in a TDP mission.
This is only a small amount of the positive things to say about this mission. Overall I am very impressed and can recommend everyone to give this a try. Top work Shadowspawn! I'll write a review about this and continue with it's sequel afterwards. Thank you for making this. It took me 10+ years to figure it out but it's never too late to be surprised :).

Yes. This is my favorite FM even though I played it a LONG time ago. Still a classic.

Lorgan‘s Web is often hailed as one of the best fan missions for Thief: The Dark Project. This was my first time playing it.
For the first 45 minutes, I felt I was not achieving much. I was going from house to house, reading the journals of their owners and picking up the meagre loot I could find. Felt like a standard City romp.
The mission got a lot more interesting after I made my way into the guardhouse and found Cudget. From there on out, I started noticing the technical finesse of the mission. It has elements that make the mission feel more interactive and elevate it above many of its peers. I understand now why Lorgan‘s Web is a landmark release in Thief fan missions.
In particular, I was impressed by these features:
* Different ways to enter Fishkill‘s. Garrett‘s and Cudgel‘s planned approach via the rooftop isn‘t even the best: Smashing the glass of the window will alert the guards nearby. It is much better to sneak into the Hammerite priest‘s room and enter Fishkill‘s via the secret door.
* In most rooms, you can turn the light on and off. You even can disable the lighting in specific areas of Fishkill‘s via a central breaker system.
* Guinevere is reacting to you when you take bottles and glasses off the table in the brothel.
* The Trickster‘s eyes in the painting follow you.
* In the bathroom, you can look into the mirror and take a look at Garrett's visage.
Finished on Normal in 1 hour and 42 minutes with 3594 of 4244 total loot.
