I have what is possible an earlier buggy Beta version. If the final one is working properly, this is how it should work
Spoiler:
Cudget should have come to meet you at the north gate. If he didn't, go back to the apartment and blackjack him or gas him and bring him to the gate. Drop him and then go up and you should be able to open it then and carry him through.

Let me know if the mission finishes or not after you go through, would you please? Shadowspawn thought this was fixed, but when I downloaded the new version it wouldn't work. I thought maybe I had some hidden file from the beta still lurking in my machine that was messing it up. If you have the same problem, then I'll know it's not that. Thanks :)

I played the mission on expert, and at the end of the mission Cutty was waiting for me at the North gate. An excellent mission

Here's what happened when I played it:
Possible (I'm sure of it) spoilers...

Spoiler:
I'm playing on normal. The north gate wouldn't open, and Cudget wasn't there, either; reading the goals.str, a dim thought occured to me -- what if I dropped Lorgan into the spider pit in the sewer, even though it's not a goal on normal? So I did, and returned to pick up Cudget. He wasn't there. He was at the north gate, it was open, and the ex-Hammer Thief (who was just standing around with nothing to do after I had taken out every guard and Hammer) was out like a light. Cudget had a blackjack in his hand, so... Anyway, we exited through the gate, but the mission didn't end. ctrl+alt+shift+end. Stats!

Hell of a spoiler, huh? More of a novella than a spoiler...
Fantastic mission, regardless. I spent a couple of happy hours playing.

Fantastic, Silver Sorrow! I never would have thought of trying that. I went back into my saves and did what you said and it went exactly as it should and the mission even ended properly for me. I was playing on Normal, because I knew it was buggy before and I wanted to see the changes. I e-mailed Shadowspawn about it.
So any of you people who are playing on Normal and are having trouble at the end, read Silver Sorrow's spoiler and try that.

Hi guys,
It took NightWalker's email to make me think about coming here. Let me ask a general question, under spoiler 'protection':

Spoiler:
How did you kill Lorgan? I knew it worked by drowning, the spiders, and hitting him with the sword. Did you guys get more creative?

Either post here, or email me. I'll see if the mission needs a fix.

I haven't tried the way described in the spoiler BUT -- because I'm old (and forgot) -- great mission/great fun/ great everything and I'm sure a fix or whatever you guys do will make it better !!! Thanks again -- The Geez

[I dropped Lorgan in the sewer. Then as I was walking back to get Cudget guy - all of a sudden he was walking in front of me and went to the northgate area. He opened the gate for us and we went through it and the mission ended without the mission completed signs. The game went to stats. I was on normal play.SPOILER] [/SPOILER]

Congrates with your mission,
I really liked it esspecially the new ambients and the mirror [very original !]
I only had 2 problems with it
- When I picked up the hooker lorgan killed, I started to lose hitpoints.
- And when you frob a candle, a torch appears above it.
Aside that, a great mission to download

I forgot to say how I killed Lorgan, first, I trew him off the rooftops. Then after a quick reload I carried him to the mansion and I trew him in the Lava with the big crystal

Thanks, Nightwalker -- my revelations usually happen because of extraordinary coincidence and/or dumbfounding luck than out of any skill. ;)
Other than what I described, I had no real problems with the mission. I'll play through again on hard later, to see if I encounter anything like what happened. I doubt it, since I have never been able to duplicate those types of things. :)
As for Lorgan...

Spoiler:
I simply KO'd him, not knowing if I'd need him later. Turns out, I did. He hopped up right quick when I dumped him in with the spiders, though. Threats, etc. "Garrett, you bastard! I'll get you for this!" So I haven't tried out anything...erm...weird yet.

Congrats to Shadowspawn for making a classic.

Okay, I figured out on my own to smack Cudget around back at the apartment. I was just frustrated and needed to take it out on someone. When I got him back to the North gate and went through nothing happened. I'm playing version 1.0, released June 22.
One other thing: the other prisoner ended standing facing a wall opposite the gate. I smacked him him around a bit and nothing happened. So I shot him with a fire arrow and he took off running. I didn't know if this was part of the mission so I followed lickety split.
He ended up in alley back towards the start where, to my suprise, I found all the people who had been in that outdoor bar. I'd done the outdoor bar part late in the game and when these folks took off I guess there were no guards left for them to cry to about me having a sword :) So I beat up on them a while and went back to the gate, but nothing happpened. I tossed Cudget around everywhich way but never saw the "mission completed screen. Now that I know it's a bug and not something I missed I shall be able to sleep.
Real nice mission. I love City missions and this had all the elements of Thief I most enjoy. And no undead.
