V.Equinox - It appears some people have been running into problems with this, even though Shadowspan thought it was fixed. We were discussing it in one thread and one of the players tried something and it worked, so I tried it and it worked beautifully. Look here
Spoiler:
He took Lorgan down into the sewers and dropped him down through the grate with the spiders. It's not an objective on this difficulty level, but somehow it seemed to trigger something. After that, Cudget came to meet me at the gate like he's supposed to and we went through it, and up to the right and the mission finished. The lever to open the gate won't work unless Cudget is in the area.
If that doesn't work, you can try finding Cudget and gassing him or blackjacking him and taking him to the gate, though when I tried that, the mission wouldn't end. I hope that helps. :)

Hello everyone,
I hope you're enjoying the game, even though the bugs can be annoying. I'm working on a bug fix, but I can't reproduce any of the problems on my machine, under either TDP or TG.
I may have polluted my TDP directory by installing other FMs, or Dromed. So I'm going to do a completely fresh TDP install and see if I can find the problems.
If anyone is having problems who is running under Thief Gold, would you email me with your bug list? I promise I'll try to fix them. I think I've got a handle on the TDP (with or without patch) problems.

Great! I'll give that a try! Thank you. :D
And don't feel bad, ShadowSpawn, it's a GREAT mission. I've really, really enjoyed it. I love finding secrets so much...

First to respond to two of the questions above
1) Opening North Gate: Lorgan's death is definitely the trigger to getting Cudget out of bed and taking the walk to North Gate. At first, I thought it was when I went to North Gate after I freed him and placed him on the bed ... only to find that he hadn't budged when I came back to see why he was taking so long. And you don't even have to feed Lorgan to the spiders. Just release the prisoner in Cell 1 and he'll go kill Lorgan for you. I also discovered that if you wait long enough after Lorgan is dead that Cudget will actually open the gate for you (had to take a telephone call just after releasing the prisoner and had left the game running and came back in time to see the gate opening and Cudget exiting the gatehouse soon after).
2) Keys for Double Lock Safe: Really only need Vimes key. I was able to open the top lock with a picklock.
-------------------------------------------
Really enjoyed seeing the old neighbourhood. You don't get to see much of it in Assassins since you're too busy trying not to lose sight of them. So it was good to see what was in those houses and shops and being able to traverse the rooftops as well.
Paniced at the start when I realized that even keeping out of sight didn't prevent the guards from crashing through the door. Never appreciated seeing a ladder so much.
Also found it fun to incite the guards to run after me and then release the burricks on them.
Has anyone been able to find all of the loot. I come up approx. 700 short of the maximum.

Thank you, Dreamwalker! It never even occurred to me to try to PICK the lock. I figured if one had a key, then the other one must too. DOH! :)

ShadowSpawn I have finished all objectives and I went to North Gate on expert and Cudget was not there, also I went back to my apartment and he disappeared. Then the objectives changed saying don't leave him to the Hammers. I knocked out everybody and looking all over for this guy. Any help?

Oops,
That's sort of a debug aid. Somehow, Cudget managed to get himself killed. You'll have to find his body and take it with you.
Or back up to a saved game, and try again. Depending on how you finish the Jewelry collection and Lorgan objectives, you can sometimes meet Cudget at the stairs near the waterfall and 'help' him make it to the gate.
Cudget 'should' take the following path. He walks around the alleyway near the apartment, then straight by the waterfall, up the stairs, over the wooden plank by the water, up the next stairs, past the brothel, up to the grocery store, and up to the guard house. Then he decides to either wait for you or go open the gate himself.

I just finished playing it on Expert (finally!), well I almost finished. It worked beautifully - Cudget was standing by the North gate when I got there, I ran up and opened the gate, he gave his little speech and then ran through the gate, I followed him, BUT the mission wouldn't end. The last objective of escaping through the north gate just wouldn't tick off. :( It's a great mission, though.
I've played through it several times now and I always come up short on loot by just over 700 g. Are there any really well hidden stashes? Maybe you could give me some idea of where to look, Shadowspawn?

Try going into the gatehouse and back out through the gate again. You may have to do it more than once. It appears to be a timing thing.

Shadowspawn, nice touch on varying the objective re: Cudget getting to the Night Gate depending on whether Lorgan is killed before or after you bring Cudget home. Also liked the nightlight, teddy bear, and all the other innovations you brought into it. I can also see why gamers would want to throw Lorgan to the spiders. What sadistic minds we have! The burricks also loved him. Well thought out mission.
Still missing under 600 in loot.
