BestestFM has some very nice effects and creative ideas. I especially liked the real-time texture effects on the inside of the crater. The objectives were very straight forwards, and the architecture wasn't confusing even though the FM lacked a map. I also liked how the FM allowed for several different techniques, like jumping while firing the arrows.
But sadly, the FM was very lacking in the sound department. Even though the roombrushing was perfect, it didn't have any ambients and music, and the promised "funny voices" just weren't there.
As they say, sound makes 50% of a game, so unfortunately I can't say this is the bestest FM thus far, but it certainly gets a special page in my book.

Oh, I get it, the title is not "Best-est" as in "best ever." It's "Bes-test" as in "Be's this a test, mansie fool," hence the emphasis on vegetables.
OK, I just made that up.

and also has commented before about how it might be interesting to have a contest to see who could make the worst FM.
I thought about doing a contest like this after playing dread complex. I think it'd be pretty damn funny. Here's what I was considering for rules:
Total Crap FM Contest
Using Dromed, build the worst possible Thief FM you can.
Restrictions:
1. Total mission must fit inside a 300,000 unit area brush.
2. All terrain brushes must be cubes.
3. You may only have one objective.
4. You may use only one sound brush.
5. The time in your info_window must be less than 5 hours.
6. No custom material allowed.
Maybe after Komag's contest... :ebil:

...
I thought like "wow, this is probably gonna get up high in the world of thief 2"
then I saw the objectives, said "meh, a little humor didn't kill any mission before"
then I saw the bright collors, said "how the heck am I going to sneak around here"
then I saw the flying people, said ".... what the....?"
then I saw the big hole... ...and I jumped in it.

hehe, well... I like the fact that you tried to make a futuristic (is it really the right word?) enviroment and such...
I keep wondering... what's whit the sleeping man-tree at the begining?
Sluggs on 25/6/2006 at 09:24
I guess i wanted to put something in that had never been done before. When was the last time anyone saw a snoring TreeBeast? :joke:
Man-Tree? Neat! :D
