T2 Báthory - I. Elizabeth Bathory v.2a (10 10 2007)

:thumb: Well done, Sensut. Another good mission, and nice visuals as well as an interesting background story. Really not bad... far from being bad, actually!

However, I encountered one small bug, similar to what MrMunkeepants discovered long ago:

The crowbar did not shatter anything there, but if I jumped on the drawer to the left of the portrait and then walked towards the picture, the sound of smashing glass could be heard, and the "mirror objective" was marked as complete. The door to the Rose Relic opened, and I could enter the final room and finish the mission, without even taking the Tower key or getting the hand mirror.

Later on, I investigated this a bit more. The problem happens with Windows XP and Windows 98 SE, and with a difficulty setting of Easy and Hard (I didn't test the third one). If I enter the tower after jumping onto the drawer and hearing the sound of glass shattering, the hand mirror has vanished. Obviously, I somehow triggered the "showing the mirror" effect,, but in a way which was not intended.

But since I could still finish the mission, it's not a big deal.

Oh, by the way: Are Eszebet and Elisabeth Bathory the same person, just with different spelling, or are these two different members of the Bathory family?

I realize I am 2 years too late but I am just catching up on all FMs. Just started Bathory. I am in the electrical plant close to the main sewer. I throw the switch and the electrician comes running out. He has no key on him. I club him and go into the room and get the main sewer key. All sewers open except one. The one I think I have to go. Behind a gate with a snoring guard.
Is there a bug here. I downloaded the newest version 2a I believe. Any suggestions? Great piece of work Sensut! :thumb:

The sewers are pretty shadowy. If that does not help... you still remember what your blackjack is for, don't you?;)

It was an interesting mission.
I don't usually play "scenarios" outside the Garret paradigm, but the good reputation of this mission convinced me to try it. And I don't regret.
The city is very realistic (the reality of a medieval city), the cannon elements and the outer space between outer gate and inner gate being very helpful.
I liked the fact that it was hard to find the way in (all the door closed, not lock-pickable, and -almost- only metal arround) and the fact that some loot was placed in unexpected places.

I didn't liked the new compass and the new llight gem.

It happens to me what it happened to baeuchlein.
After breaking the glass in Elisabeth room, after I opened the closed door with the red relic, the game was finished. Nobody talked, nobody explained nothing. I didn't showed no mirror to no one, I didn't get to tower. . Playing on expert and finished with 2100 loot, so 400 loot short. And I found a lot of hidden or secret loot.
What is the problem? What is the story? I'm very curious...

Forget these 3 Bathory missions and don't try to find any logical things is them. No. Just I realised that Thief is only for THIEF, and to make something else is almost impossible. Dracula was a light thing to do it because of DEDX, but Bathory... its impossible. Now I experimenting the FarCry 2 Dunia engine for this story, because this storilyne needs a bit better visual experiment instead of a couple of readables where a player don't understad anything. I need more fighting in these levels and no FPS slowdowns. Anyway will be a Thief Bathory release about this campaign, but it will take a long time.

For me to bulid something is having fun only just like fo you for playing (not a job) ;)

Hi there, I am stuck in the castle area, bedroom. I have found the message and dead body lying by bed, heard glass shattering, found the frobbing picture but I cannot get out of the castle through the double doors I do not have the key:confused:. The alternate option to key does not work either.
I missed somehting somewhere.... help

This mission campaign sounds amazing. I downloaded it, watched the intro, and after the prologue mission boots up, when guy says "Something strange is going on, be extra careful" and Garrett replies "Could you possibly be any more helpful" THE SCREEN IS JUST BLACK. I see my HUD (with the health bars and shadow meter) but that's it. I hear the wind blowing but nothing is visible.

ANY HELP??
