Mission 1:
I have a couple of keys I can't find a use for (
attic, museum), I can't find a code for the
chest in the library office or keys for the
bank sub-vaults.
That was a lot of questions.
Attic key is used in the
spooky house. The museum
is east of the hotel. The code is in one of the
apartments to the west.
One key is:
In spooky house.The other one
in Brigantias courtyard.Quote Posted by MrMunkeepants
Maybe because I can't find a way over to the NW section of the map? I am getting a little frustrated trying to get around; new_mantle is on, but I keep falling off ledges and failing to pull myself up onto balustrades, often then falling to my death. I feel like my jump is shorter than usual, too.
Are Garrett being over weigh :) You get to the north
part in part 2.Quote Posted by MrMunkeepants
Some others have reported low frame rate in open areas, and I'm also getting this. My PC can play relatively modern games at high settings, so this was disorienting. It also took a long time to save and to load.
Also, a part of the ambient rain loop has sounds that are very similar to the guards' lip-smacking/teeth-sucking sound, and it has me constantly on edge.
Too bad that you have bad experiences.

Hot take time: I find the side-story of
someone raping and murdering around town distasteful. It's bad enough hearing conversations & reading reading notes, but then finding
dead bodies & naked victims spoils my experience playing.
The thought is to hate the perpetrator, so that you feels satisfied when putting him in the cell or killing him. And the sad fact is, that this is how it is nowadays. Not that Thief takes places in this modern times.
I guess it was better then.

I will say, though: the
spooky house genuinely startled me multiple times, and had a great sense of dread. I hated it in the best way.
Glad you find something good too :)

thank you for the clues, Beltzer; sorry if I was harsh in my previous post - I'd been running (and jumping and falling) in circles and was pretty frustrated. The library puzzle was great! I went back into the house of shadows and whispers and search again for an attic, but couldn't steel my nerves enough to also find the other vault key.
On, to part 2!

Liked the FM and appreciate the work that went into it. Hey, there are some great parts and not so great parts. This is not a $$$ game here. It's a fan mission. Yes, it has some warts (I agree with most of the complaints), but it has some great play (I agree with the protagonists).
Specifically on the lesser side, I think the loot on #2 was skimpy verses the goal. I also really don't like having to pick door locks just to open a room with no loot or clues. But then, maybe these were the places I missed a secret ? ;)
I got two really good evenings of play with this FM. Better than watching TV.

mission 2:
my game froze while quickloading in the Hammerite temple, I had to End Process to fully exit. When I reopened, the quicksave slot was blank!

maika & sexypat, the numbers for the code are in the president's office. I do not know whether you have to use switches to make the numbers visible, but I doubt it. If you still cannot find the numbers, look around near the bookcase.
Still nothing? O.K., here it is in plain text: The numbers are on the wall directly at the left side of the bookcase. If you see them, but cannot make out/read them, use Garrett's eye zoom.
Well, that should do it.

If players are experiencing lagging when looking across wide open spaces it can help by checking you have the latest drivers installed on your comp, NVidia update their drivers regularly and I've found in the past significant improvement to lagging can be resolved by doing this.
That will hardly change anything. NewDark runs on a single core and uses an ancient version of DirectX that will make even the best computers struggle with very complex scenes. Particle effects and lots of objects in view especially will tank your framerate.
