Hi, I'm having problems getting this to work. I can get through the first part of the start fine (the part where you're chilling in your house and get the first objective with your job), the Mission Complete comes up, but when I click on 'Continue', it just crashes.
I have a feeling it may be to do with the movies, as I can't seem to get them to play. I tried playing them separately in VLC and Windows Media Player, but VLC said a IV41 codec was missing and only the audio played, and WMP just crashed straight out
I don't have any problems playing movies in other FMs (e.g. Rocksbourg), so I'd be very grateful for some advice as to what to do (is it really a codec problem?). I'd be happy for a movieless experience as long as I can get the main FM working, because from what I could see, it looks beautiful :)
I'm playing it on Vista through the latest version of Garrettloader.

Under Vista for the movies sometime is needed a special codec pack (Indeo 4.5 for Vista, not vers.5). Anyway, remove the movie files from the zip and you can play without movies.

Probably you can find a solution in the (

Thief FAQ or in the (

FM FAQ, although I don't recommend Vista, as I marked in the info. But recently I did a full playtest on Vista SP1 with DDFX, Widescreen patch 1680 x 1050, EP, soundpack and worked without any problems. Be sure that your mission download is not corrupt, you have a clean Thief 2 install because the palette limitation can produce problems like this if you have detached obj textures in Thief 2 directory or any other modification in the Thief 2 structure.

All right, I need a hint for the second mission :
Which location exactly is this "People's Fort" ? Where should I deliver the alchemist ?

From where you find him, follow the little river; if you come to a watermill, you'll know you're on the right track. You've heaps of enjoyment left in this part alone - good luck!

Because I brought him there and nothing happened. I can't open the door on the fort either. Oh well, I guess I have som unfinished objectives.

When all of the other objectives are completed, the gate will open if you have the Alchemist's body dead or inconscious. You must drop to the ground at the soldiers.
