If you read the hints of the briefing it'll tell you that some gates may be opened by other people. Check back later. I suggest that you concentrate on the Mansion of Death first. After you are done there, and you still don't know how to get into the White Mansion, then ask again here at the forum. Good luck!

Many thanks for the sword info. I must have gone through there too fast and missed that. At one point I somehow had the Skull key and got into the area with the well in the corner. Jumped into the well, pulled out the rock from the tunnel and walked in. Went past an area that looked down into a place with a strange monster and at least one thief/grard(?) but there was a tree or something in the way so I could not go in there. Proceeded to the end of the tunnel where there was a hole in the rock, more tunnel behind the hole; but could not get into the hole and continue. I was using lockcheat at this time so maybe I should not have even been there. Realized the well might be the way OUT and not the way IN!I've now started over from an earlier save before the lockcheat so hopefully I'll get it right this time!

This is strange. Without going into the technical side too much, there is something right next to the scroll of death and the key that triggers the gate by the white house. It has always worked. I don't know how you were able to pick up the scroll and key in the Mansion of Death without triggering this to happen. I recommened you to run back and rope up on the beam where the scroll is laying and walk all the way on top of the beam down to the secret compartment where you found the scroll and key. Move around a little bit and then jump down. You will notice if you triggered the gate, becuase what also gets triggered at the same time is the sudden of appearance of three real tall executioners that you will encounter on your way out of the mansion. In a future update I may consider to have all of these events triggered in a more safe way. I hope this will help you.

I seem to be struggling more than usual with this one. I've got rope arrows and the sword.
Is there a key to the gate near City Electric and how do I get to the rooms above the Mayor's Office? None of the gates open (or the sewer hatches). I can climb onto the wall above City Electric but can't find a safe way down on the other side.
