If I ever come to the Neatherlands I'll make sure I buy a few Teddybears. :D I'm glad you are making progress. Thanks!!!
Rope arrows in
hotel room: You start in hotel room 3. That's Garret's room. Hotel room 1 and 2 have their doors locked. One key is found in a box underneath the counter of the main hall of the hotel, ground floor. Hotel room 2 key:
Read a readable in the hotel owners office for a hint on the location of the key. Total spoiler
It's underneath oe of the chairs in the main hall of the office where you can tell that they were playing cards. Have you been able to open the armory door yet?
Yes I did. I don't know how BTW :ebil: I went to a Halloweenparty and it got really late, after that I played your FM for a bit and I'm not sure how I got in :erm: the wine was good though, on the party ... :ebil:
I'm in the haunted house now ....
IT'S AWESOME!!!so now I'll go back to the hotel and check this out.
I''l probably be back here :erm: :ebil:
Thanks again.

... and here I am, allready.
I'm confused  I went back to the hotel and found the key but didn't the note told me that it was to be found outside somewhere because these Taffers were climbing buildings to look into people's windows? Because, after reading that, I checked every space on the ground, where I could rope up in town to find that key.

:laff: I'm sorry if the readable misslead you in such a way. I wouldn't be that mean to make the player look at every climbable building. If you read the document from the hotel owner carefully you'll notice what they were doing when they realised that they had lost they key, they were
playing cards in the hotel. That's when one of the guys realised that he didn't have they key anymore. They thought that they had lost it while climbing buildings. But the fact is that he it simply fell out of his pocket and landed under his chair while they were playing cards. You need those rope arrows immediately in the game. That's why I put them at the beginning. Why the rope arrows are needed:
At the beginning of the game they are crucial to get in to a place with more weaponsGood luck and watch your back in the Mansion of Death. :ebil:

I had a few hours to play an FM and had a lot of fun playing yours! Really good job Brynolf :thumb:
Nice design, good story and interesting quest.
However I have to mention a few things which could be usefull for an updated release of the mission (if one is intented):
1. none of the secrect doors made a noise when opening it; this was rather frustrating sometimes because I had to search the entire area to find out where something opened (e.g. the hideout of the life scroll)
2. the Trickster behaved different depending on which save-game I loaded; once I could kill him in his lair, the other time he was "aimless" runnning around in the room where the death scroll was hidden
3. some allready mentioned the places you could not travel too, like (
http://thiefclearing.strana.germany.ru/Redemption1.jpg) here;
they're adding to the imersion of the city but players
will try everything to reach them (like me, after 20 minutes of crate-stacking, I got in (
http://thiefclearing.strana.germany.ru/Redemption1.jpg) here and found nothing :( ). Why not put loot or usefull tools in such places? Players will try it anyway..if they get "rewarded", the better!
4. I assume I missed something because the only way I could get back to the starting place was this:

Inline Image:
http://s9.directupload.net/images/081103/temp/johbzi4q.jpg5. What purpose had the quest with the sword? Probably I missed something but I didn't need the sword in the entire mission, actually it was the last quest I completed.
It took me (with crate stacking) 2:35 hours and I got 12740 loot (normal) while having a lot of fun...keep it up! :D

Why would you tell then that the key was lost climbing buildings out there???! Normally in a Thief FM THIS is a HINT!
I don't mean to criticise you. Really! I'm not.
I just want to mention this to you

Thanks Brynolf for the mission, quite creepy! -- I'm stuck at the place of the Skull. There's a gate but I don't have the key and I can't climb back through the hole in the well. Can somebody please help me out?

Thank you Intruder, I recieve all your helpfull thoughts about the mission. Here are some answers...
1. I do agree. If I make an update, I'll add some sound. Even though all the secret doors are right next to the button or lever beeing pushed.
2. No, even though you think you killed him in his throne room, he stills shows up in the room with the death scroll. This is on purpose and he is not running aimlessly around. He runs and dissappears. Read the scroll he left behind. It says that you can't really kill him.
3. I agree. If somebody is stacking crates for 20 minutes, they should be rewarded. :laff: But how would anybody believe that I would make the mission that hard that you need to do that to make any type of progress. :erg:
4. You have definitely missed something there. I admire your tenaciousness.
5. Maybe you didn't find any purpose for the sword. Maybe somebody else did. It's still good to carry with you into some more dangerous areas. I don't find that to be a strange objective. It's rather common.
Thanks for all your comments, and good luck on your mission. :thumb:

No problem, you are right. :D It never dawned on me that it could be taken as a hint. I only meant that to be a joke and that the actual card playing was the hint. I'm sorry. Good luck on the rest of your journey. :thumb:

I've lately been of the opinion that those equipment objectives are sometimes best left as optional (if they're not truly necessary). That way, the player may know the sword exists, but can still complete the mission without. There's been plenty of times where I've finished a mission, but had to return to the start to find a blackjack or triangle lockpick or whatever.... :o
Anyway, your mission was pretty good. :thumb: Though, I can't help but play devil's advocate and consider how all that Joshua stuff may have really been Trickster's conspiracy to undermine the Hammerites.... :ebil:
