OK - is something supposed to happen in the Mayors Office? I walk in to find a woman in one room, a man in another, and NOTHING and NO ONE else - no readables - nothing to indicate what I am supposed to do next. I've circled the limited playing area three times and found nothing but locked gates - what, if anything, am I supposed to be doing on this level!!?
EDIT: OK - found the way to progress. Missed the button in the Mayor's Office (by the small stairs) - For some reason, I was set on the idea that the Mayor was going to be in the office to give me objectives, or that the scroll on his desk was supposed to be readable - I didn't think about scouring the office for a secret.

Let me just say, Brynolf - this was an excellent mission. It maybe didn't have some of the visual punch of some of the others, but the level design was excellent - played like an old adventure game, where you had to complete one section before another would open.
I wanted to also add that I loved the way you wove the story of Christ into the game. A little on the nose at times, but very nice all the same. I see you wisely avoided responding to some of the negative comments here regarding the religious tone. I will just note this - over the years we've seen countless references to pagan mythology, godles hedonism, explicit sex, and even some FMs where the author inserted some real nude photographs. Yet few of these ever garnered any objection past the occasional "warning." But here you put in the story of Christianity, and it offends people!! I suppose I will just let that comment stand as is.

Just finished this FM - was stuck on loot because [spoiler]I did not notice the wheel in the thieves' house and I did not see the two purses in the hotel's guest rooms[/spoiler]
Great mission, though.
I liked the mix of houses and town areas.
[spoiler]The references to Jesus' sacrifice were rather out-of-character for a thief mission, yet I did like the quote from the '700 year old book'.[/spoiler]

I can understand your point - I don't like the references to real world people or events usually - but in this case I see it more as symbolic than literal - he named the character Joshua, not Jesus, for starters. To me it's no different than the missions that have been homages to movies like the EVIL DEAD FM (Right Up There In The Mountains) or SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (Sir Lector Comes To Dine).
Anyway, to each their own opinion . . .

Thank you both taffedinthehead and Zacceus, för your kind and valueable comments. My attempt with this mission was to do what authors like C.S. Lewis did in the book The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, where Aslan the lion is symbolic of Jesus. C.S. Lewis used a different world and metaphors to tell the real story about Jesus. This can be seen to some extent even in The Lord of the Rings, that C.S. Lewis dear friend Tolkien is also using metaphors, but maybe not quite as direct as C.S. Lewis.
I've been thinking ever since starting to play Thief 10 years ago, and been playing ever since, that the Thief world could very much be used as a metaphor. In this attempt I wanted to bring respect to the message I was dealing with, and at the same time respect the Thief game and community.
I wish all taffers and the thief community a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm playing this beautiful FM but I was stuck, I have to complete the goal of finding "the scroll of life" but I can not find it.
