Check out the chain near the chest in the cave.

I still can't get into Mainwaring's room. The problem may
be getting the robot head in the secret workshop, which is not frobbable
Also, finding the
5 brass buttons in the skeleton lounge did nothing for me
Finally, I don't have the objective ticked off referring to getting info from the 3 higher-ups. I'm assuming that will be accomplished
once I get into Mainwarings room.
Thanks Sinister Shadow.... That pointer helped but I still cannot get a key or keys after helping the wall to see..... I can see skeleton guards w/lanterns, but cannot open the gates... I need to finish this area and hopefully, Mainwaring will appear:cool:

dbrilliant,
one of the skeletons has got the key on its belt. Wait near the Gates and when the skeleton turns back quickly grap the key. You could also reveal yourself and fight, but without a sword I wouldn't recommend that.
Did I get you right? You haven't found an access to the workshop yet?
The key is on top of the doorframe to the workshop.
Clock,
The buttons unlock the two safes in the area.
Thanks again Sinister Shadow... I'll try again, I thought I frobbed there before.. Maybe there is a bug in the game for me. The other coin seems vanished from where it's supposed to be.:thumb:

Clock,
The buttons unlock the two safes in the area.
For me they didn't. Was I supposed to hear the distinct sound of locks unlocking?
Ok, I did it fresh from the beginning of entering the room and it worked. I probably double clicked one of the brass knobs and threw everything out of synch.
So how do you pick up a robot head if it isn't frobabble? This is in reference to my previous question.

Awesome mission, Dude! Enjoying it very much. 4 hrs. playing time, and I know how to end the mission, but I would like to continue playing on. My problem(s)
can't find any candles; need the key to the chest near the cloudvator (where I think the 2nd mask would be found)
I have all my main objectives checked.
Need some help, please!

Regards the key to the chest...
there is no key, but there is a chain hanging down from the ceiling very close by. Give it a yank
One of the candles is on the
floor in a corner behind one of the sarcophogi in the lower crypt.
I can't remember where the other one was...
It was in one of the rooms in the mansion

Ok, I've lit both candles near the statue, but nothing seemed to happen. I cleaned out the crypt of skeletons, but all I found was a candle. The second coin hasn't shown up in the ground floor of the tower yet, and Mainwarning doesn't show up when I enter the private prayer room. I got in the workshop, and I opened the secret door with the nugget, and I can see the other secret door, but I can't figure out how to open it. I haven't been able to find any secret diaries, and I can't get into Mainwarning's room or the meeting room. What am I supposed to do next?
By the way The Dude, this is an excellent level. I really like the dynamic feel due to new enemies suddenly showing up. With many thief levels, I can either do what I like (blackjack everyone) or purposely hold back and leave more enemies walking around to make things more interesting, but this feels artificial to me and breaks immersion - why would Garrett purposely make things harder for himself (I've never been one for ghosting)? But with your level, even we compulsive blackjackers can know what it's like to be surrounded, deep in enemy-infested territory. :p
Couple suggestions - I like it when enemies suddenly come out of locked rooms and start patrolling, but there was one scripted encounter that seemed cheap because it was so clearly planned in advance.
When you enter the private prayer room - with marble flooring - and brother banana suddenly shows up behind you. "Gotcha!"
Also, I don't think it's a good idea to have critical items only show up after you've completed certain other tasks.
The coin in the tower.
It just seems like a very artificial way to force the player into doing things in the order you intended. Anything that makes me think about your intent breaks immersion. If an item has to appear, it should be part of a larger scripted event in the plot, such as something the player does causes one of the AIs to take an item from once place (maybe inaccessible to the player) and put it somewhere else.
I mean this as constructive criticism and it comes with my highest compliments. :D
