NOoooooooo....Iv'e just remembered how crap I am at computer chess:p:p:p
What a brilliant and absorbing game...instead of my usual outbursts of swearing and fist waving at the screen because I'd mis-jumped a roof or got pulverised by a haunt, my wife had to nudge me to make sure that I hadn't died in front of the monitor as I was concentrating that much.
Bravo...excellent.

I think that one of the things that made this difficult for me was not been able to see the computers move at times. If I'm not looking in the right direction it's very easy to miss. Yes the text does come up to let me know what move was made but it didn't stay up long enough for me to read and work out where on the chess board it was referring to. This made it really difficult to strategise.
When forming strategies I mostly reffered to the small chess board as this was more familiar. Unfortunately there is no way of knowing what the computers last move was. I think I'd find it easier , and maybe others who were struggling too, if the chess peice that was last moved by the computer was somehow highlighted on the small board. Perhaps two squares could be highlighted red after every move. The square that the computer moved from and the square the computer moved to?

Yes there is. There is a logbook on the table that keeps track of every move made. Just look at the very last entry.

Regarding an update. It would seem that we always play as white. Is it possible to make it 50/50 just like the real thing?

Hmm. Even though the logbook is there, this sort of highlighting would be easy enough. I could just place tiny versions of the decals that appear on the large board under the two small board squares. I'll add it to the wishlist and see if it works visually.

Interesting. Short answer: yes, and I've added it to the wishlist. Long answer: my code makes a number of assumptions about white=player and the board orientation, so I'd have to factor those out, but it's feasible. One issue would be some baked-in design choices like the wood vs. metal squares in Pag-vs.-Mech that would no longer match up. Which brings me to a second thought: if you were randomly playing black, would you want to actually be the other side (Blackbrook, the undead, or the Mechanists), or just have the color correspondence switched?

Not many things to talk about, just a HUGE piece of fun. It was amazing. Thanks a lot!!!
Can't win, BTW, but it's my own problem. No reasons to ask the author about the clue.
But, stop, I have one question. Were videos (death, success) intended to be invisible? I guess yes, but better to know.

Yes, I turned them off. Since chess games can end in a draw, I didn't think it was fair to show a skull and crossbones when no one really lost. From that, it was just simpler to get rid of them. :)

I can only speak for myself here but I think that highlighting the computer's last move on the small chess board would be extremely helpful in addition to being able to read the logbook.
I'm going to bring my T2 disc in to work next week to see if I can install it on my office PC just so I can play this on my lunch break.

I played one match for like hour and then i had to end it because AI wanted it to become unlimited moves of my king and its 2 towers (my king was against wall and it moved towers back and forth between two squares making my king to move on 2x2 squares all the time)
I think it won :P
