Well Gillie, you only have to drink them just like healing potions.
The new potions are the silence potion, the ice potion and the stone potion. the others are for the keys.
The silence potion makes you silent (no shit).
The stone potion makes you invincible to physical attacks.
The ice potion makes you invincible to magical attacks.
Their effects last 20 seconds or so.
yay, 300th post in only one week. :D

Breathless is the only way to describe this incredible FM... It is so dank (also dark) and dirty; I have been holding my breath. It reminds me of my father-in-law's iron foundry years ago; the smell, noise, heat, sweaty bodies..yeecchhh.
You said to go slowly, and that's what I'm doing, but somewhere along the way I missed items needed for the keys. So far I have the fire, darkness, air, and light keys. The purified water has been placed..but what goes on the other pedestal? Haven't yet placed the rotten fruit since something else goes with that.....what? Someone mentioned fish scales...must go back to the kitchen and look again.
Any help on other items for the key pedestals would be appreciated as I thought my search was diligent.
DrK...There is not much I can add to the acclaim and applause fellow taffers have expressed. This is an extremely unique FM.....ummmm, would probably cost taffers their right arm if they had to purchase it.
Thank you for all your labor and attention to detail. SALUT!

Thanks for your compliments :D
For the ice :
flask of ice dust or something the like, in south star storeroom
bottle of maintenance freezing, in north star Workshops
For the vine :
trickster's herb, in south star kitchens
bag of cursed seeds, in the South star storeroom
For the water :
you're missing the bag of fish scales, in south star kitchens
For the earth :
bag of burrick excrements, in a little storage near Souls quarters, in north star
sand of the burnt lands or something the like, in south star storeroom

I know from reading this thread that I'm supposed to make a new Dark Key; but I haven't found any readable to that effect. Had I not been reading here, I would have been completely in the -- er, dark about where to find that key (I know I need it because I have the door-opening instructions in my inventory)... and I still don't know how to make it. Could somebody point me to the readable? Thanks.
And while we're on the subject, I'm lost! I tried to get back from the North to the South Star (to drop off the Book of Names, or whatever it's called), but I can't remember how I got here in the first place. Both stairways up to the top level just leave me in that long loop that goes around and comes back to where I started.
I vaguely recall visiting the museum shortly after arriving in the North Star; I can get to there fine. But where do I go from there to get back to the South?
Thanks again,
Dafydd

Dafyd...remember where you received your instructions? Go back there to return the book.
At the top of the tower in an anteroom is the entrance to the south tower.
Hope this helps.

A question:
I also am unable to drop the Book of Names in Interpreter Thale's quarters and have it trigger the objective.
I also have not gotten the Living Breath or Dead Shadow. I'm wondering: Could it be that it's not a script issue in my case but that the author intended Garrett to return the Book of Names only AFTER getting the Living Breath and Dead Shadow? (The comment in this thread about changes to the reactions of the Keepers late in the mission suggests this.)

Fantastic mission, just made it thru most of the way after 4 hours. DrK, what can I say, you know how to make an FM an incredible experience.
However, I also had the Book of Names bug. I was sure I had all the scripts installed, but I went back and re-installed them all the same. So, my question is, with the updated scripts installed, should I be able to just load up a save a carry on? Or would I have to play the entire mission over? (I'm guessing the latter).
Edit: OK, loaded up the most recent save after reinstalling the scripts, and the "Drop the book" objective works just like it's supposed to. \o/
One bit of constructive criticism, just my opinion here:
While the Dark Zone was scary, it was a bit of a letdown for me, after the buildup and steps required to get there. The architecture seemed to be a drop in quality compared to the rest of the level. Everything was so square and straightforward (maybe that was the point?) and short, I thought it really could have used some more pizzazz.
Other than that, I guess I'm counting the days until Rocksbourg 4... ;)
