Clearing :
It's good this objective isn't tick off, because that objective is a no-kill objective. You mustn't kill Soul Vlain otherwise you wouldn't be able to exit.
You can bring back the book of names whenever you want.
Holy Thief :
Perhaps you didn't install the correct scripts ? Every taffer who had the scripts installed completed the mission without trouble. See Brethen in this page, scripts installed and it worked.
Wildwilbur :
They both are in South star, one in scriptorium, the other in Thales quarters.
Dafydd :
I didn't follow everything that happened to you, nor where you are exactly now. Still I guess the other players gave you the necessary hints to help you out. Otherwise, don't hesitate to post again your situation.
Brethen :
About the Dark Zone, its simplicity is indeed voluntary. If you didn't notice, in "A new beginning", the scary sequence at the end was in the Dark Zone, and it already was very simple. This is a choice I made, in order to make the Dark Zone look and feel completely different compared to the rest of the mission, to the "real world" let's say. The fm is very detailled and complex, but then when you enter the Dark zone it's the opposite, "wait wtf ?". I think somehow it adds to the creepy atmosphere, it doesn't look normal.
Krush :
Did you really finished the Dark Zone, or do you want me to believe you faced your terror ? :ebil:
Kenbsue :
Do you have trouble in the light maze ?
Prjames :
You really need the scripts installed to make it work. The book of names events are totally independant from the rest of the objectives or AI's behavior.

Just need a hint, no spoilers plz: :)
Do I find the ingredients for the
Air key in the South Star or in the North Star? And a little hint for the locations would be helpful. :)
Mild hint:
Both ingredients are in the South Star.Total Spoiler:
One ingredient is found in the scriptorium, the other ingredient is found in Thales' quarters.

Sorry I did have a bit more written except I did not have it in blue. I am stuck in the maze. I have spend an hour trying to solve it and just keep dying!
This is one of the best fan mission I have played though

completed in 2hrs 40mins. found 11 paintings out of 15. got a little over half the gold. found 4 secrets. never did find the vine or fire ingredients :( definately gunna play it again and totally canvas the entire mission this time :)
had no problems whatsoever to do with scripts and what not. havent got any custom scripts installed and the book objective ticked off perfectly. overall an awesome mission (not to mention scary)! congratulations DrK on another instalment of ANiR. :thumb:

Wait what ? :wot:
This is the light zone, therefore you must stay in the light path. If you try to go in the shadows, of course you'll keep dying. ;)
It can be very tricky. Just go slooowly and try to stay in the middle of the light path.
I never thought it could be difficult, no one complained about it before you.

If it's true, now that's curious. Still I heard the latest version of Darkloader automaticaly installs the custom scripts, maybe that's the way you got them installed without noticing it.
ASHASSIN on 19/5/2008 at 15:48
yeah i think that must be the case. i reinstalled the latest version not too long ago as well.

Yes, I finished the Dark Zone! I guess I overreacted when I saw the first ghost appear and then I went to the prison and saw another screeching ghost - two heart attacks within a couple of minutes and I had to go outside for a little while. :p
But I came back and made it through. It's not a as bad as I thought - mainly the sounds are very scary.
A little disappointing that we don't get to find out what is going on with the walking statues.
Also, things seem anticlimactic after the Dark Zone - the Dark Zone is basically the high-water mark for the tension in the level, so I think it hurts to have the player leave the Dark Zone and everything after that is very easy. Maybe the Dark Zone should have been almost the very last thing to do.
Anyway, excellent job overall!

I knew there was some 'trick' and it must have been easy since no one asked before. I was making too much of it. I was trying to use the ceiling design as a map! Too much thought by me. I'll turn down my gamma and try it again.
Thanks for the help.

One ingredient is found in the scriptorium, the other ingredient is found in Thales' quarters.Ok, I`m giving up. Where he heck do I find
the ingredient in Thales' quarters? I think I need
"Something belonging to a creature living in the air" so I was quiet sure it has to be the
feather on the desk in Thales bedroom or on the desk in the main room. But they aren´t frobbable...
Spoil me for I am unworthy... :(
