But you should play Sliptip's missions before you say that ;)

I needed to do this mission for the campaign. sorry you didn't enjoy it that much.
I hope my comments didn't offend. The magnitude of the series speaks for itself in quality. I think maybe I expected too much. It had so many creepy nuance's I think I expected to be frightened more. As well the other zones hinted at some possible objectives,
i.e. the ice zone book, that I wanted more. I look forward to your work. Thanks

Hello Again, I was very fascinated finding this third chapter a few months ago.
After getting the lame "Vista" configs ready for thief 2 to play I started the mission and got stuck at the first book so to say.
I started the first two missions again ton get the continuity of your work and remember what actually happened and what was going on.
I had a long time to come back to the third one 'cause of real life things and today I started it over again.
I remember the last time I played i had trouble finding the souls and orientation was a bit difficult without a map, I mean I didn't get lost but I had to walk the whole level many times to find the right passage...
So this time, as i think your work deserves, i'm making a map as I'm still exploring the level and I still haven't been in none of the "two areas", so i don't have an imaginary clue about how mkuch paper I have to use.
Actually I made in about two hours only the first floor and I haven't yet reached the first interpreter for the new objectives...looks like a lot of work you have done, and still much for me to get it down (let's hope to make it to the end, would be very satisfying to finish it)
I don't have a scanner so maybe I'll have to post a picture made with a photocamera as it's finished.
Suggestions & Questions:
1. Would it be possible for the next missions of the Campaing to have some map to carry with you and not only the in game map of the town seen in the briefing?
2. Are you planning to get the whole campaing together as it's finished, maybe also fixing (With the help of the community) the briefings so that they are English spoken at least (I studied french and actually what I'm going to write down doesn't Bother me that much, but I find as an "english" player it gives more to the atmosphere to have it all in english and not just 3/4 with 1/4 subtitled)
Thanks for the wonderful and inspiring experience, it's very immersive, just hope there won't be such difficult parts as the final of the second mission, which was a little too "expert friendly". Thanks a lot!

Wow, quite a task you're trying to achieve ! Never expected someone would like enough my work to make a map of it :D
Thanks a lot btw, I didn't want to put a map in the mission because I felt it would ruin the experience or wouldn't match very well with the situation (and was lazy too, I spent 2 days on Rocksbourg city map, t'was enough), but many taffers seem to have had troubles with the place. So if you could upload your maps once they will be finished, I'm sure many players will appreciate them :p
I'd recommend you to play the mission once before to map it though, I think it'll help you a lot if you already know the place.
About your suggestions, a map is planned for the fourth part, and probably for the next missions too. As for the mega fixed pack at the end, I'll finish the campaign first before to consider doing this... ;)

Nah don't worry, the end is quite soft, I promise... :ebil:
Edit :
Talking about maps, if you're interested I uploaded the Rocksbourg city map in high quality here : (

Wonderful, really, remembers me how much I'm waiting for the results of "the mapping out the City" thread :D
As far as I've mapped the level I'm still not where I arrived the first playthrough (I think it was a third of the mission) and I already have two sheets finished up...
it's nice being on Holiday ;)
I'll see what i can do, maybe in the next days I will post the results...better in some covered way, just not to spoil the entire mission, it all comes to when I come to finish it myself...
Bye :thumb:
Edit:
After four sheets of paper I discovered why it's so difficult to map "ink and Dust":
the underground after "the portals" is very confusing and not just straight corridors but very intricated floors and rooms...
the map is going to loose some detail...
Edit2:
Here's a preview of the first map, actually I think I will redraw them to make them a little scale like, as they are hand made during the mission they do not have much detail, but give a hint of the rooms and corridors.
(

I don't know if I will have the time to redraw them tomorrow and take a good picture so that they can be seen here on TTLG; that much for the fisrt half of the mission...
For the second Half I'll take DrK's advice, I'll try enjoying it through a simple & normal gameplay...(Know that I scared out my self on the brisges in the dark...good sound!)
Thanks again, I found it very amusing today having such an activity...remembered me of old RPG Stuff as i Drawed many maps during the journeys of my fellowship, very immersive experience so long ;)

Impressive map !
It's quite precise actually, maybe not 100% on scale but very close to what I saw for 2 years on dromed :D
Looks like you discovered why I've been lazy to do some map of it...
Keep up the great work taffer :thumb:

Great map! When you have the final version, I'd like to upload it to The Circle & link it in the mission description.

DrK - I know you've heard this many times already but what an incredible job you've done here!!! :thumb: Certainly one of the best FM's of all time. Loved ANIR 1&2 and 3 is even better! Can't possibly praise the mission enough for its atmosphere, architecture, storyline, voice-acting, puzzles and overall feel (not to mention fear factor!). Cudos to all involved (author, testers, voice-actors etc.).
I am still in the South Star and have found everything needed to continue (including all secrets here I think) but I don't want to continue. I am having too much fun here exploring and I don't want this mission to end too soon!:D
