D'oh!!! I'm in the habit of playing the middle difficulty first, and for some reason I opted for the easiest level this time. I'm sorry to waste your time, Nightwalker, but I thank you for helping to resolve the matter promptly. I'm off to play it on the middle difficulty now. Cheers!

I might as well tack on my question(s)

Spoiler:
I have been all throughout the gaurd house but I am not sure which person is the Ship Captain and which is the Head of the City Watch. Also, when it says that I should bring the Ship Captain back to the smuggler's house, does it mean the house I first start out in? If it does mean that, then how exactly, I have went back and tried to get in with out a body but I couldn't find away back in. AND THEN, is there and special place in the sewers I have to place the Catain of the Guard? BTW I am playing on Expert, I like a challenge.

Thanks for your help!

Spoiler:
When you walked along the ledge above the courtyard and jumped over to the balcony, you ended up in a rather fancy bedroom with a woman and a man. He 's the guy you have to dump in the sewers. Take him down to the part with the spiders and leave him there.
As for the ship's Captain, yes, you take him back to the house where you started. Just go to the door, drop the Captain, and frob the doormat. The key is hidden there. I hate to admit it, but I'm not sure I remember where the Captain is on Expert. I think he's down in the torture chamber. I seem to remember climbing a rope arrow while carrying him from down there.

Alright, I'm back with questions. This time I really am playing on Hard (I promise), and I'm stuck. I'm at the ship, but somehow I missed the objective concerning the combination to the ship's safe. Can someone please tell me where to find that?

Spoiler:
Also, I've found mysterious places (switches?) all over the ship, but I can't frob them. I've pressed the button on the wall in the captain's cabin, and I hear a distant noise, but I cannot figure out what has opened/changed. The door to the secret hatch remains closed. Please advise.

Thanks

I'm glad you decided to try it on Hard!

Spoiler:
Your questions are actually related. The "mysterious buttons" are the key to getting what you need on the ship. They have to be pushed in a certain sequence and in a VERY short period of time. You missed a scoll down in an office off of the torture room that has the information you need on it. I guess you'll have to go back.

DOH!@ I hate it when you do that nightwalker, I've been stuck for over an hour trying to figure out
Spoiler:
sequence of those damn buttons on the ship

It's driving me nuts! Not to mention searching for 1/2 hr on the boards for the same info and then find this!! Only taffing. This is an awesome mission! My wife is ready to kill me tho, been playing for 5 hours so far on Hard. *sigh*
PS You and KoMag do a great job moderating too!!

Thanks, sap'em! I really enjoy hanging around here. If you're enjoying Smuggler, make sure you give RiCh's new mission, The Art of Thievery, a try when you're finished. It's fantastic! (But also huge, so maybe wait until your wife forgives you for this time. )

ok, finished the taffing thing last night. Had 1 shield left after all the falling damage. RiCh(sp?) this thing is monstrously huge!, yet packed with fun. My stats look like this:
5hrs 29 min 51 sec
3937 out of 4372
Pockets Picked 10 out of 23, Locks Picked 24
Secrets 9 out of 11 (Found one not listed in Nightwalker's earlier post)

Backstabs 1 (A Zombie) Inn killed 0 Others 4 (I thought I counted 5)
Dam Dealt: 152 Dam taken 29 Healing 14
Iron beasts destroyed: 1 Dis 0 Bodies Disc by enemies 5
Three WOW moments and a spoiler
First when

Spoiler:
the lightning went off right as I was about to blackjack the guard by the sewer hole

Also the
Spoiler:
thunder as you are climbing the rigging on the ship almost made me fall off

Spoiler:
When the zombies in the corpse room jumped up and climbed the table the mech book is on and I couldn't mantle fast enough up to the ledge

the other secret I found.

Spoiler:
in the lower city behind the guard with the storage key is a bag of loot on the roof, mantle up to the all at the top of the stairs and walk/climb the roofs to that point, Its tricky, but it can be done.

This mission is my new all time favorite. Great Job RiCh!

Thanks, Nightwalker. My problem was I had not found the torture chamber. It's amazing where a rope arrow will get you. I do have one observation. The order in which I had to push the buttons on the ship did not correspond to the order written on the scroll. Fortunately, it wasn't much of a problem to overcome. Great mission! Kudos to RiCh!
