The key to many of the doors is on a guard in a stairwell. I think the only way to get there the first time is to go down to the grass level in the courtyard. That part is a little tricky too.

Follow it around to a balcony (you can make a stop at a window, climb in and push some buttons, too) then go all the way around to the balcony. That's where you'll find your keys. :)

How do I get in there if that lever is disabled? I went onto that courtyard balcony and went into that room and opened all the lockers but I can't get into the room. Thanks for any help!

Have you been inside of the executioner's (the brass plate on the door reads "Headchopper Brown" or something like it, the exact name escapes me, but it's the door framed in skulls) bedroom? I can't recall all the steps but you'll know what to do once you're in. If not, then I'm sure Nightwalker will be along shorly to supply the details.

Norman Druart is right. Here's more detail, if you need it. Beware, though, it contains exact directions, so don't look unless you're ready for a total spoiler.

Spoiler:
You have to go to the back of the jail and through the door there. This door leads to a hallway and on the left there is a door surrounded by skulls. Have you been in there? Frob one of the skulls above the bed to open a secret passageway, then, at the end of the passageway, there is a ladder to climb. This is the part most people miss. When you get to the top of the ladder, turn around and look behind you and you'll see a passageway you can jump over to. That's where you need to go.

Well here I am another poor taffer stuck in this FM, I have read all of the previous posts and have not found an answer to my question. I am now in the guardhouse (playing on normal) and the most i've been able to get past is the kitchen area. I'm not sure if i've passed where i was supposed to go to, but i've already gone into everyroom i can pick open or i have a key to. Currently the only key i have is to Quinn's house.
Help! Thanks :)

It's in the sewers with the sword down by the spiders. In the Guardhouse, you need to go into the cell block and into the cell upstairs that has a chest in it. Then pick the window open, drop down onto the ledge and work your way around it. There are some areas you won't be able to access on Normal in this one.

Thanks for the information Nightwalker, I'm now outside trying to get to the landing on the other side, but its all tile and I ran out of moss arrows along time ago! Do you have any suggestions to get around that? I'm going to go see if I can work around this for now :D
Thanks again

That's tough! A moss arrow is definitely the easiest way. I guess you'll just have to experiment. One thing you find out in this FM is that you really need to use ALL your equipment very wisely. There is generally only the very necessities available, which makes it quite challenging, especially on Expert!

This seems like a dumb question, but I'm stuck and don't know where to go. I have been wandering around the streets and sewers, but can't seem to get into the guard house or the pub. All the doors are locked and there don't seem to be any keys and the lock picks don't work. What am I missing?
